Old Pictures

When we were at my parent's house for general conference my dad pulled out a box of old pictures. There were pictures of my house in Daniel where I grew up. I wanted to post them here so I can show my kids and their kids what my house looked like. It is no longer there so I can't show them in real life.

One time we had rolls of carpet in the garage and I remembered it being unrolled and I took the radio in there and danced around what felt like for hours.

The living room was to the right when you walked in the front door. I spent time in there playing the piano, napping, and reading books. It is the room where we set up the Christmas tree so I have lots of good memories of Christmas mornings, sleeping around the Christmas tree leading up to Christmas, and decorating the Christmas tree. It was a nice large room so it was perfect for the home teachers or visiting with anyone who came over.

My room was upstairs and the window looked down to the front porch. Ali and I shared a room for the majority of growing up. Charlie's room was next to us. We had a lot of fun playing Legos together and going back and forth between rooms when we were suppose to be going to bed.

The basement had a large theater room that was fun for movies of course but also playing with friends, listening to music and walking on the treadmill. Lots of good memories with my family in that room.

The kitchen and family room were to the left when you walked in the front door. I always liked that they were separated from the front door. I haven't liked houses where the front door opens immediately into the kitchen/family room.

The dining room window looked out to the front porch so it was funny if someone came to the door while we were all at the dining table. We all had our spots at the dining table. The big kids on one side and the little kids on the other side with my mom and dad on the ends. I loved the pass through window from the dining room to the kitchen. We lots of guests over for dinner growing up so we had a lot of fun dinners in the dining room.

The house was off the road in the middle of fields. We snowmobiled all around. I loved mowing the fields with the sit down lawn mower. The driveway was long and so fun to roller blade up and down. We had a really fun tree house in a tree next to the driveway. At some point we even had a zip line from the tree house to a telephone pole. It was pretty awesome!

I loved sitting on the deck at night. We got to sleep on the deck. Sometimes we would go to sleep on the deck, get too cold and end up back in our beds.
I have so many great memories from this house. We also had a detached garage/shop and I have lots of great memories playing in there.
