Delta

Normally I don't travel for Quest Diagnostics. I could if I wanted and a lot of nurses I work with travel to Idaho, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, and Montana. It doesn't really work with my family for now but it would be fun to at some point.

I had the opportunity to work in Delta. I decided to do it because I had been wanting to go to Delta/Hinckley. My parent's went there a few years ago and talked about our family history there including some family plots at the cemetery. I invited my parents to come along with me so they could show me the cemetery and around Hinckley.

My parents and I drove to Delta after James's awards night. We got there around 9:20pm and called it a night. I had to wake up 3:50 so I was grateful to get some sleep.

I drove with the other nurse to the plant Thursday morning. We worked from 5:00am-10:00am. My parents picked me up at the plant. My mom had lunch for us and we ate while we drove around. It was delightful.

The Hinckley cemetery was beautiful. It was very peaceful.
I hope it's twenty years before I need these cemetery plots but it's good to know where they are and such.

I had a nice day with my parents. We drove home the back way through Eureka. It was a nice drive.

9th Grade Awards

We got a post card in the mail inviting us to the 9th Grade Awards. Marshall took Kade to his soccer game so I went with James to the awards. Little did we know James was going to sweep the awards. He walked away with 10 awards! I liked how the school did the awards. It was very speedy. Every student picked up their certificates as they got there. Then for each category they put the names on the screen and all of those kids went up on the stage. The audience clapped, took pictures and then all exited. James was doing laps going up on stage and then coming off the other side and going back up again. It was so cool to see him awarded for all the good he does. He tries hard academically, he's friendly to all, and he has good grades. Nice guys don't have to finish last.

Last was the principal's award. James won and it was so awesome! Very well deserved!
James has a great group of friends and that's been a huge blessing. I'm excited to see what they accomplish in high school

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was the best! I got to sleep in which doesn't happen very often. Then I got yummy french toast and homemade buttermilk syrup. Kade is really good at making french toast and Swedish pancakes. It's fun to watch him own that.

The rest of the day was super relaxing and I got to spend time with each of my kids playing.
Marshall made roast, mashed potatoes, gravy and Caesar salad for dinner. We had fun hanging out and going for a walk. Chewie made this post because this picture was taken that day.

Lynnlee's Job Shadow

Lynnlee was suppose to have a job shadow. It was a day that 9th graders were going to Lagoon so 7th grade students were encouraged to do a job shadow and not come to school. Lynnlee had a hard time deciding what to do. Once she decided, I had a hard time finding someone for her to shadow.

She thought an esthetician, nail artist, or bakery would be fun. I couldn't think of who to ask. Then by the time I contacted the owners of Lehi Bakery, they didn't respond back. Ali had a great idea for Lynnlee to follow a recipe on YouTube at home. Lynnlee chose macarons. I bought the ingredients, she watched a video, and made it along side. The first batch seemed a little runny. So she tried it one more time with a different recipe and YouTube video. They were a little runny but still turned out really yummy.

She made cookie and cream filling that was soooo yummy!

Rose's 38th Birthday

I had the best birthday weekend. I got to do some shopping. Lynnlee loves shopping so she came with me and helped me decide what to get. Then we had dinner at Chili's. Chain restaurants get a bad wrap but I like them. You know what you are going to get and I think the quality of the food is great.

Kade loved the food and this was the face he made to show how satisfied he was.
Sunday was a busy day with meetings and ward conferences. Plus it was fast Sunday so my family was off the hook for the morning.
That afternoon we celebrated May birthdays at Ali's. We had marry me chicken which is a new favorite main dish. Mmmmm! Then my mom made white Texas sheetcake.
This was a cupcake Lynnlee made for me and I got this at home for my birthday.
I'm so excited about my new Garmin smart watch from Marshall. My Fit Bit broke while we were in Puerto Rico. I love tracking my steps and exercise so having a Garmin is perfect! Marshall did a great job.
It was the best birthday weekend. I felt very loved!

School Play

James and his friends all went to the school play together. In seeing him plan that, I told Lynnlee she should arrange the same thing with her friends. It all came together and I drove Lynnlee and her friends to the school play. It was Descendants and my younger kids wanted to see it too. Marshall drove them in his truck. Of course we didn't get tickets by Lynnlee though because she didn't want any of us talking to her and her friends while we were there.

We enjoyed the play and she and her friends had a fun time too.

Her friend Colby was in the play so it was fun they could support him.
