James's Senior Trip

James's friends planned their Senior Trip, with the help of the moms, on a cruise to Mexico. They left out of LA and made stops at Cabo and Ensenada. Marshall and Ray were the chaperones. They drove to LA on a Monday morning and got there early enough to play on the beach that night. They got on the ship the next morning.

I will have to try to add more pictures so for now this will be a place saver. They had a great week! They enjoyed the beach in Cabo and surfing in Ensenada. They got back to port on Sunday morning and went to church and then drove home and got back late that night.

Aunt Jane's 75th Birthday

Aunt Jane's 75th surprise party gave us a chance to see Aunt Jane one last time. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April. Her son and daughter, John and Stephanie, put together a surprise party. It was so fun to be there to support her, and she spoke to everyone and told us how grateful she was for all of us. She said that she feels pretty bad after her chemo treatment and has to be in bed for a few days. Then she has about a week of good days until the next treatment. She was glad she felt well enough for the surprise party. She then went around and greeted each table. It was really special to talk to her, knowing it would be the last time.

All of my siblings were in town, so it was pretty cool that we all went to Aunt Jane's party together. After the party, we went to dinner at a nearby Greek restaurant and then had ice cream at a new place called Stella's. The great thing about Stella's is that they have gluten-free ice cream, waffle cones, and waffle bowls. Mmm! Another cool thing is that my friend Katie Broadbent's sister owns Stella's. It also happened that Katie B., who now lives in Washington, was in town for a niece's wedding and arrived at Stella's after we had been there for about 15 minutes. So I got to catch up with her.
Charlie, Angeline, Betsy, and I enjoyed visiting after, and Sienna was curling her hair with her sample spoon. Look at that ringlet!
Huge thanks to Katie, who brought my dad to the party and had to take him back home after, so she missed out on dinner and ice cream.

Lagoon and Seven Peaks

While Charlie's family was in town, we went to Lagoon and Seven Peaks with our Get Out Passes. The only bummer was that Marshall and James were on the cruise and Kade and Tag were at YM camp. We missed having them with us!

Drew, Lydia, and Lynnlee did the Sky Coaster. It was Lydia and Drew's first time. They loved it. It was a good day. We got to do all of the rides we wanted including the new ride, The Nutcracker. It was so scary. I closed my eyes the whole time and did deep breathing.
Thanks, Grandma Ruth, for treating us to Zeppes. It was a hot day, so it was a nice cool-down for everyone. Unfortunately, I can't have any right now with the corn thing, but I'm hoping it won't be like this forever.

Seven Peaks was pretty chill. It was very crowded so we just made the most of our time there.

Ali's Sewing Class

Ali put together a sewing class this summer. Lynnlee, Lydia, Sienna, and Ivy learned how to sew beach bags. They turned out so cute and they are perfect for summer. She had an additional class for Mir and Brig when they came to town. It was so nice of her to do this!

Charlie's Family in town/ Ashlyn's farwell

Charlie's family came to town to take Ashlyn to the MTC. We had a family dinner to say farewell. Every family get together is so priceless and it was so enjoyable to be together.

Having all of the siblings together is worth taking a picture as well and taking one with my mom.
Savannah and Daisy were in town still so we were grateful to see them again.

Manila Pond

I took Kade, Tag, and Sienna to Manila Pond on the Tuesday that Marshall and James were gone on their cruise. They took my car, so I had the truck for the week. I'm happy that I can hook up the trailer, drive it, back it up, etc. We had the place to ourselves. The weather was warm too. It's been such a warm year that summer started off hot.

We stayed until 2:00 ish and then headed back home. It was the perfect amount of time.
Kade wanted a fun tan line, and so he had us put these sand toys on his back, and he lay there for about 20 minutes. He definitely got a tan line.

Sienna's Friends Pool Party

Sienna's friend Kinley moved to Arizona, but before she moved, they had some fun get-togethers. They went to Sadie's grandparents' pool and also hung out at Audrey's.

Meeting Great Grandchild-Daisy and Grad party

Jack and Savannah came to town. It was so special meeting her and even more special that my mom got to meet her.

Four generations!

Random picture from that day.
Another random picture from that day
Tag loved holding Daisy. He probably held her the most out of all of us.
Lynnlee loved holding her too.
We aren't around babies much anymore so this was pretty great.
It was so nice of Andrea to order a cake even though Lucy couldn't be there. She left early on her Senior Trip. Congrats Jame and Lucy :)

This is one of many family pictures from the summer.
