Minis Turn Two

The minis are two-years-old!!! It's so exciting! I get asked a lot if they are easier. Yes, they are easier but yes they are harder. How is that for an answer? :) They are independent and can feed themselves and entertain themselves. They do need lots of supervision still and they can been needy at times and want entertained. I have learned lots of times that they can't be left alone while there is food out.
We love the minis so much though! They had their check up and Taggart weighs 24 lbs 8 oz. (13%) He is 32.5"(14%). Sienna weighs 27 lbs. 2 oz. (58%). She is 34.25" (62%).

It was a really fun day celebrating the minis. They woke up extra happy. The balloons are a new tradition for birthdays this year and they loved playing with them.

They gobbled up their pancakes.

We went to the new Lehi splash pad to celebrate.

Our neighbor has the same birthday so we made it a big birthday party with donuts and chocolate milk for us and two other families from our neighborhood. We love hanging out with them!

The minis got balance bikes. They are a little short for them for now but it will be nice to have them as they grow.

We had Grandma and Grandpa Lowry over for dinner and cupcakes. The minis loved blowing out their candles but didn't touch their cupcakes. We have learned that they love candy but don't like baked goods.

Betsy's Birthday Pool Party

We are sad that this was the last pool party since Betsy moved. It was a good one to end on. My kids had so much fun swimming with cousins and we could have stayed all day.

Taggart and Sienna stayed in the kiddie pool the whole time and loved it. They are fishes.  I love these floats too because I have a little peace of mind while they are in the water.

Eating pizza with cousins.

Happy Birthday to my oldest sista!

Kaden is quite the charmer. At one point he was hanging out with three teenage girls. We talked to one of the girls after and she was gushing over him and telling us how cute he was.

The minis had so much fun and played in the water until it was time to go home. I like this age for swimming way more than their age a year ago.

Stadium of Fire

Ali and Dan took us to Stadium of Fire this year. I haven't been since the Beach Boys performed there. It was a lot of fun! I'm not a huge country fan but Tim McGraw was great!

Cul de sac of Fire

We have been going to the hot air balloon festival for the past few years but we haven't had the best of weather and so the balloons haven't been able to go up. Hot air balloons have to have the perfect weather, temperatures, no wind and no rain. It's a gamble waking up at 5:30 and getting to the balloon festival at 6:00 because you never know what the weather will bring. This year there was rain so the balloons didn't take off. At least a few of them inflated so you could see them and that was all the excitement my kids needed.
We still enjoyed the yummy pancake breakfast at the festival.
Then we walked around and saw the balloons. It is so crazy how small the baskets are!

This is the second year we went to the Freedom Festival parade. We had fun but it's so hot and crowded that I'm not sure this will last for our family traditions for the day.

We walked around the booths for a bit and got this family picture and free sun glasses.

We went to Seven Eleven after to cool off with a slurpee. It's perfect for our family because if you buy seven slurpees you get one free.

We feel so blessed to be in such a great neighborhood. The Culdesac of Fire does not disappoint. This year we all chipped in to plan it. We started with water activities in the afternoon.

Then we had dinner. I was in charge of this. We had pulled BBQ chicken from Costco and hotdogs. Then everyone brought sides and dessert.

Everyone who attends pays a certain amount per adult and child. Most of the money goes towards fireworks but some of it goes towards the food, drinks, etc. My neighbor used her extra fridge to keep the drinks cold. It was quite the site.

There are plenty of activities after dinner to entertain the kids until it gets dark. We had a bike parade, carnival, face painting, pinata, crafts, and chalk art.

A fire truck was driving around and happened to come down our street. They parked and let all the kids go in the fire truck. We couldn't have planned it better.

The whole night went by so fast.

Of course Kaden had his face painted like his favorite character.

We ended the night with a beautiful fireworks show. There were a lot of aerial fireworks going on around us too so there were plenty of fireworks to see. We had such a fun day that we didn't want to go in when it was all over.
