Summer Round Up June

We kicked off summer with an ice cream party in our neighborhood. Through spring and summer all the neighborhood kids are less social and this party helps them all remember they have each other to play with. They all played after the party through the rest of the day.

Lynnlee and Sienna got to have a girls weekend with Betsy. They are so lucky to have her spoil them.

While the girls were with Betsy Saturday morning, all of the boys went fishing with Grandpa Dan.
You would think by this picture that this is what they caught. Really they found floating in the water and took a picture with it. I love Kaden's facial expression while trying to hold it up.

We went to Manila Pond in Pleasant Grove with friends on one of the first days of summer. It was nice and hot. The kids played in the sand and played on the kayak. We are so lucky to have Drew hanging out with us this summer. He evens out our numbers.

I may have posted this already but it's a good one. Play hard and sleep hard with comfort.

We went to the new all abilities park in Orem. It was a hot one. We enjoyed it for an hour and I even found all five doing the same thing at the same time.

It's hard to tell from the picture but the kids have made some fun forts. This is one of them. The wall is made with pillows, stuffed animals and blankets.

We took a trip to the zoo.
One of my kids wanted me to take a picture of the gorilla.

Random shenanigans....

We had a mega sleepover with cousins. Charlie's family came to town and it worked out for his kids as well as Katelyn, Drew, and Lucy to sleep over. It was a blast!
They love doing dress ups and having fashion shows. There was plenty of fashion shows.

Saturday we played Eat It or Wear It. Basically there is a whole lot of food items and they draw out of a bag to see what item they get. Then they have to choose to eat it or wear it. Ketchup, ranch dressing, mustard, mayo, butter, whipping cream, honey, syrup, chocolate sauce, cottage cheese, beans, barbecue sauce, yogurt, peanut butter, were some of the options. At first they were all eating them. Then once one person decided to wear it they all followed. They had to stay outside once they wore the food. It was pretty entertaining! We finished off with the slippin slide, kiddie pool and sprinklers to clean everyone off. They all had so much fun together. I love cousin sleep overs when they all are kind to each other and play together. I don't think I could do it if they were all in separate groups doing separate activities.

Last Day of School

First and Last Days of School....

Lowry Girls Weekend

Dellene and Miranda planned a fun weekend to celebrate the combination of their birthdays and ages equaling 100. So we had one great 100th birthday weekend. Marshall is so great for watching the kids so I could be a part of it. I was so spoiled to get a second girls weekend in one month!
I was really sick the week leading up to the 100th birthday weekend. I wasn't sure I would get to go but thankfully I was feeling up for it. I hadn't quite gotten my voice back but at least I could breath.

Friday night we ate at Tucanos and then saw Sense and Sensibility at Hale Center Theater. It was a very interesting style but definitely entertaining.

Since I was up coughing all night all week I decided it would be best not to stay over. I met up with everyone Saturday morning at the hotel for breakfast.

We had a full day of shopping and lunch at Blue Lemon. It was so much fun spending time with my sisters-in-law and mother-in-law. Happy 100th to Miranda and Dellene!

Fathers and Sons

The boys had fathers and sons at the Heber Valley Girls Camp. Taggart was so excited to go camping with the boys.

James didn't have any ward friends there but he took a big book and read in his bunk bed when he had free time.

James, Kaden and Marshall did the big rope swing.

Kaden stuck with his buddy Mason and they had fun together. He ended up coming down with strep Saturday morning right before heading home and was pretty miserable the rest of the day. This is his third time in two months.

Homestead

Ali invited us to have a girls' weekend while the guys were at fathers and sons camp out. We met up at Pizza Galleria.

Then we stayed in a bunk house at the Homestead.
Katelyn and Lynnlee stayed in the bunk bed room.

We tried out the play ground. Lynnlee could not believe there was no slide. I guess in her opinion a play ground is not complete without a slide.

We went swimming.

Saturday morning we walked around and up to the top of the crater.

We finished off the morning with breakfast at my parent's house. Yummy Belgian waffles!
Girls' weekends are so much fun that I think we will make it a tradition every year over fathers and sons.
