Youth Music Festival

The General YW and YM presidencies made a Youth Music Concert. They invited all youth in the church to watch the broadcast. My stake combined with 8 other stakes to show the Festival. It was nice because each stake had an assignment. It was so much easier sharing the load. One stake rented a huge blow up screen and speakers. We bought glow sticks. Some stakes brought games. All of the stakes brought root beer floats and water.

The first hour was gathering, root beer floats, and games. There was nine square, spike ball and corn hole.

At 9:00 it was dark. We passed out the glow sticks and started the concert. It was really fun! The youth there seemed to enjoy it.
It was such a pretty night. It all went well and there were no major problems. Each stake brought chaperones too so there was plenty of adults around.
We took 15 bottles of root beer and 4 buckets of ice cream. There weren't quite as many youth there as we thought so we came home with a lot of root beer and ice cream. We shared it with the wards to use for their week night activities this next week.

The Rush

We got to have Taggart's birthday activity. It was so busy after his birthday that it took us this long to be able to have it. It worked out perfectly because Tag and Sienna had a sleepover at Betsy's Friday night. I was picking them up Saturday and it made sense to go to The Rush while we were near there. I picked up Tag's best friend Gio and then we picked up Tag and Sienna and then we went to The Rush. It worked out perfectly!

They enjoyed the three hour unlimited passes. Go Karts was Lynnlee's favorite.
Everyone else loved the foam pit, rock wall and trapeze. It is such a fun place!
I'm so glad we could squeeze this in before summer ends!

Adidas Cup and Lakeside Invitational

Kade plays from Brad who he also played for last year. Then he was asked to double roster for a team that is a year older. The coach is Al who James has had for a coach. We left it up to Kade to decide and he wanted to double roster. Then it happened to be that both teams had a tournament the same weekend.

Tuesday Kade played his first game of the Adidas tournament. It was a close game but they ended up losing.

Thursday he had a game around lunch time at the Adidas tournament. The game was close for most of it and then his team just fell apart. His coach Brad yelled at the team excessively and unnecessarily. It was crazy. The coach wouldn't even talk to the boys after the games Tuesday and Thursday. It was pretty ridiculous. These are 12-year-old boys and this year they move from a 9 v 9 field to a 11 v 11 field and they are adjusting to playing with 11 boys on the field. They need slack while they figure it all out.

That night he had a game at the Lakeside Invitational and it was a completely different experience. Al the coach, coached the team but didn't yell or talk down to them. The game ended in a tie and it was like a breath of fresh air. There was a splash pad next to the soccer field. Tag and Sienna enjoyed playing in it during the game and after the game.

Do you see something wrong with this picture?
Kade wasn't planning on going in the splash pad but he was so hot after his game. He decided to get in too. They had so much fun playing together. We were there for another hour or more.
Friday there were three games! Two at the Lakeside Invitational and one at the Adidas Cup at night.
The morning game was hard because the boys were half awake. They lost but they weren't playing their best. The second game that day was fun because they won!
The game that night was really rough. A storm came through seven minutes into the game and they delayed it for a half hour. Once the game continued it felt like the longest game ever. The coach was so mad he gave up on coaching and just sat on the bench. It was really frustrating.
I thought the sun rays were pretty.

Saturday morning was another 8:00 game. Thankfully the team they played was at good so it was a very easy game. Kade's team won 11-0. They took 2nd place at the Lakeside Invitational. It was a very fun tournament.

San Diego

We decided it would be fun to have a special trip for each of our kids when they turn 16. I got to go on a special trip with my dad growing up and so did my siblings. So it's fun keeping it going. James and Marshall went to San Diego Thursday-Sunday.

They flew out of Provo bright and early.

James got to choose what they did. Six Flags isn't the closest to San Diego but definitely closer than Lehi. They drove to Six Flags after flying in. They enjoyed the rides all day. James has been wanting to go to Six Flags for years so I'm really glad he got to go!
Marshall was happy they had turkey legs there. He loves getting a turkey leg from Disneyland.
Friday they surfed and had a yummy dinner at The Galley which was near where they were staying.

They got ice cream that night at Mootime.
I took these screen shots from Find My to show where they were staying. They stayed on a friend's yacht.

Saturday they went to Torey Pines, hiked, saw the seals on the rocks and explored Old Town San Diego.

They had really yummy sushi that night at Yummy Coronado.

They flew home Sunday morning and got home in time to go to our ward. They had a really great time and made the most of their long weekend there.

Baby Wes

We got to meet Wes Brooks Lowry. It's been a few years since we've been around a baby so it was really fun to hold him. Kade didn't want to hold him but I think he will want to another day.

He's so cute! He is well loved by his sisters and brother!

Saturday and Heber Parade

Ashlyn and Angeline ran the Heber Half Saturday morning. Lynnlee and Lydia made these awesome signs. They cheered them on as well as my mom and Charlie.

The night before they slept at Phil's so Charlie took them to Leatherby's.

That afternoon we got to watch my dad with the M&Ms in the Heber Parade. He did a great job and the band sounded really good.
Charlie and Kasey pulled the float. Sienna and Ivy got to go in the truck with them and throw bags of M&Ms.
It's harder to see the sun rays in the picture but it was so pretty in person.
It was fun getting together for one last family dinner before Charlie and Angeline had to head home.

Utah Cup

Tag's team played in the Utah Cup. They won their first game. It was right before the bake sale and it was so exciting!

They ended up losing their next two games so they didn't advance but they learned a lot.

Tag loved every minute of the tournament. He's excited to be like James and Kade.

Splash Summit and Provo Pool

We had two fun filled water days Thursday and Friday. Splash Summit was Thursday and the lines weren't too long so we got to do all of the slides.

It was fun hanging out with Charlie and Angeline.

We stopped at JJs for dinner. They had yummy burgers and shakes.

Friday we went to the Provo Pool. Thanks to Grandma Ruth for treating for the day. We enjoyed the snack bar while we were there and dinner at Chick-Fil-A after. It was fun hanging out with the adults while the kids went off together. We got a nice spot in the shade

Cousin time is the best!
