New Do

Lynnlee's new hair cut:

City Creek

We took our kids to City Creek this week. It was a lot of fun. They loved the fountains, play ground, and the Disney store.

Camping

Thank goodness for my in laws trailer or else we wouldn't have been able to go camping with a newborn. We went to Camper World in Coalville on Friday. It started off with James falling into the river and getting his only pair of shoes wet and Lynnlee was being crazy hyper. Luckily it got better after that. Saturday morning we went for a walk, threw rocks in the pond, and the kids played at the park. Kaden was great and mostly ate and slept.

Zoo Fun

We had fun going to the zoo last week with Beckie! The new exhibit is really cool. I love this first picture of Lynnlee. She hasn't really been photogenic but as of late she poses herself and I think it's pretty cute.

Kaden's pics

I wish Marshall's sister Olivia lived closer because she is a great photographer! She came to visit a few weeks ago and took these pictures of Kaden. I love the one of him in the dump truck the best.

Bath Time

James and Lynnlee love bath time so I'm glad Kaden does too. At least I think he does. He has a straight face the whole time but he doesn't cry.

Kaden's blessing

Kaden was blessed in church Sunday. It went really well. He wore Marshall's blessing outfit which is also the one James wore. The older Kaden gets the more he looks like James. Kaden is now 2 months old and so I will post pictures soon.

Battle Creek Falls

We decided to go on a hike Monday since James and Lynnlee are a little older now. We hiked up to Battle Creek Falls in Pleasant Grove. It is a perfect hike for kids-not too long or steep and you get to see a beautiful waterfall. It's also shaded most the way. To get to the trail head you head East past Pleasant Grove High and keep going. The road turns into the parking lot for the trail head.

Chicago

My cousin was married in Chicago this past weekend. My Mom, sisters, and I all wanted to go so we decided to make a girl's weekend out of it. Kaden came too so I guess it wasn't only for girls. We all flew out Thursday. We had 2 rooms next to each other so we had fun staying up late and giggling. The wedding wasn't until Saturday afternoon so we had all day Friday and Saturday morning to do whatever. We decided to spend Friday downtown Chicago. We started off at Navy Pier. I love all the shops here. Then we went on an architectural tour of the city on a boat. The Chicago River runs right through so you get a great view of lots of buildings plus the history behind them. So cool and I definitely recommend it! Then we walked to Millennial Park and saw The Bean. That night for dinner we went to a Japanese restaurant Ali recommended. It is called Tamarind. It was delicious! Friday night we went on quite the adventure trying to find Coldstone. We laughed a lot and eventually found ourselves in the neighborhood my Mom grew up in. We ate our ice cream on a bench while my Mom told us her childhood stories. It was a memorable night.

Saturday we shopped at Oak Brook Mall near our hotel. It is a really fun out door mall with every store you could possibly want. That afternoon we went to my cousins wedding ceremony and dinner. It was really nice and fun to be there for her.

We went to church Sunday and enjoyed meeting my Mom's old friends from when she lived there. That afternoon we drove along Lake Michigan and walked along the beach also. It was so beautiful! If we ever moved out of Utah I think Chicago would be at the top of my list of cities to move to. We flew home that night and Kaden did awesome on the plane, thank goodness!

Hopefully we can make it a tradition to go on more girls' trips in the future. I had a great time!

James's Birthday

James turned 4 last month. He was so excited for his birthday. We were counting down the days until his party. This is the first time he got to have a party and invite friends so he was super excited. When I asked him what kind of party he wanted to have, he told me a Buzz Lightyear party. Thanks to Pinterest I found some ideas.
You couldn't wipe this smile off his face all day.
Thanks to Pinterest we found the idea for these cool alien cupcakes.
Lynnlee was happy to be apart of the party.
One of the games we played was "Pin the Face on Mr. Potato Head."

Before we hit the Pinata we had a rocket throwing contest.

It was a great party!
