Sunday Snapshot

It’s been a long time since I’ve taken a picture of my kids after church. I really wanted to on Easter but completely forgot in the craziness once we got home. On the short ride home from the church it was chaotic and it was so liberating to let them all disperse all over the house
So today they cooperated for a minute to snap a picture.

Spring Soccer

That’s a wrap for spring soccer for Kade. They had tough competition this season. They won half of their games. It was difficult after going undefeated last year.

Kade is a great goalie. He’s fearless and has good hand eye coordination.

Training

James and I had to squeeze our long run in on Friday since we had soccer all Saturday. The weather was so crazy Friday. It poured rain and hail right before we started. Then it was very windy during the run. The last mile was rainy and windy. It is good preparation in case we have bad weather for our race.

Marshall was good race support bringing us water since the drinking fountain was turned off by the Jordan River trail.

Golden Friends

Lynnlee has quite a fun group of friends! We were so happy to get an appointment for them to do baptism at the Timpanogos Temple. It was a great start to their day.

It didn’t work out for one of her friends to go in the morning but thankfully it worked to go a different day.

Lynnlee and I have slacked on taking selfies for her slideshow. We were planning on taking lots of selfies over spring. break and then forgot. We went to the store one night and were talking about our selfies. We decided we had to take one right there even if it wasn’t the most exciting place.

Lynnlee and I have a fun time going shopping together later at night.

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was wonderful! Friday morning I enjoyed my morning run. When I saw the ducks in the water in the field I stopped and took a picture. I love the things I see while running.
Saturday morning James and I ran 18 miles. It went well and he continues to amaze me!

Friday evening we had date night at the Provo Temple finished off with dinner at Hapa’s. I’m so happy temples are almost back to normal.

Saturday we had 4 soccer games in an hour and a half and they were all spread out. Thankfully Grandma and Grandpa Lowry came and helped by each taking a kid to their game.

We met up after for coloring eggs and dinner.

The Easter Bunny came to our house Saturday morning.
So Saturday the kids got up while James and I were on our run. Marshall took pictures for us. James collected his eggs when we got back.

Sunday started off with a spiritual Easter program at church. Beautiful music, scriptures and testimonies. Then we hosted my family for dinner. My parents were suppose to be in Texas for a family mission farewell. The weather stopped them from going. We were grateful to have them for the holiday! We had to take a picture of our matching stripes.

Great Lowry Baker

Lynnlee loves cooking and baking. She got some kitchen Kiwi crates for Christmas so she’s made us some fun meals.

She got some fun baking kits for her birthday from friends so she has also made some yummy treats.

She made baby chick cupcakes with one of her birthday kits.

Spring Break ‘22

We gave our kids the option to go to Vegas for spring break with Marshall for a work trip or a staycation. They chose a staycation. We filled the week with fun activities each day. It allowed me to work part of the day since there are no breaks during HEDIS season.

We went to Airborne and saw the movie Grandpa's Crazy with Living Cinema. We had a swim day at the rec center with friends. Wednesday we rode the Ferris Wheel at Scheels and went to the Draper Skate Park. Thursday Betsy took us to The Rush Fun Center in South Jordan. Such a fun place! Friday we went to Lowes Xtreme and hung out in Heber. Saturday we skied at Park City. It was a slushy snow, warm spring day kind of ski day.
We were suppose to go skiing Wednesday and Lagoon Saturday but James came down with a cold Tuesday so he wasn’t up for skiing on Wednesday. I feel like when plans change I don’t handle it well. So that was a little challenging for me but I tried to make the most of it.

It was fun meeting some of the cast of Grandpa's Crazy!

This week's long run was only 13. Thank goodness for a recovery week during a busy week. Also, James came down with a cold so he couldn't run this week. I ran to the new temple and checked out the progress. It's getting close to being finished!

James has an IKON pass so I bought him a lift ticket for Park City so he could go with us. I bought it off of Facebook Marketplace. I was in a hurry when I got it so I didn’t even look closely at the ticket. Saturday morning on the drive to the resort, Marshall asked if I had his ticket. I took a better look at it and realized it was for Snowbird. I immediately contacted the seller and thankfully we were able to meet up and switch the lift tickets on the way to Park City. When we got to Park City I realized I forgot my ski coat. I remembered all 5 of my kids stuff, I saw my coat in the closet and thought I grabbed it but I really hadn’t grabbed it. Thankfully I had a different winter coat with me. The ticket office printed off a new pass for me and so I was still good for the day.

Saturday Night Girls Night

Growing up I looked forward to the Saturday night meetings with General Conference because whether it was a priesthood meeting or women’s meeting, it always was a girls night.
I also like that we can watch the broadcast from anywhere. This year we had take out form Costa Vida and watched the women’s meeting at my parent’s house.

The boys had a night and went to dinner and an exotic car show at Gateway Mall.

Running Buddy

James loved running the half marathon. He felt so good after. So he told me he wanted to run a marathon. I told him that he was half way there as far as training goes so if he was serious, I would train him and run with him. I gave him a few weeks to see if he was really serious. We ran ten miles the week after the race, then thirteen the week after that. Then we ran fifteen the week after that and he was still wanting to go along with the training. So we signed up for the Utah Valley Marathon. I ran it a few years ago so I know the course and the race support is good. Plenty of water and fuel stops along the way. I will never run the Deseret News Marathon again because it was the hottest time of the year and there weren't not enough water stations. The race has some uphill but not too much and some downhill but not too much. We can train from our house and get the hills and downhills that we need.

We ran seventeen miles this morning. It was the perfect temperature and so beautiful. This hot air balloon went right over us on the Murdock trail-have I mentioned how much I love this trail! We listened to a book to pass the time. He put an airpod in his ear and I put the other one in my ear. We stopped at Hart's in Cedar Hills to refill our water. There were plenty of honey-buckets along the way thanks to construction. We went north from our house past the cemetery and over to Highland and then back home through American Fork. I love how I can find new routes for each marathon I've trained for. When I ran the Big Cottonwood I trained a lot running down Suncrest. I ran the Jordan River trail a lot while training for the Salt Lake Marathon and Ogden Marathon. I had a route to Alpine to train for the Top of Utah Marathon. Having a new route makes it fun.

It's also fun having a running buddy. Running a marathon was not on my to-do list for the year. I really liked my triathlon last year so I thought I would do another one and spend the spring and summer training. I still can but it's fun training with James and I'm glad he is pushing me to run another marathon. Hopefully he can help me qualify for Boston in future years since I haven't been able to do it on my own.

Chewie missed him and came right over to him while he stretched after.

Uncle John

My Uncle John passed away this week. His health had been declining over the last year so it was more expected.
The first memory of my Uncle John that came to mind was a trip when I took James to Florida and stayed with my Aunt Donna and Uncle John. It was fun spending time with then.

They took us to their church’s pancake breakfast fundraiser on Saturday and then to their Methodist Sunday worship.

Sienna Time

Sienna cracks me up. She has personality that shines outside of her.
She was doing her homework wearing her tie dyed shirt and tutu, super hero cape, fake glasses, water in a mug, and chips.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1CnvyhN1e9JEt2F1yPdGKlFNliELmGhIEhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1r2-SbJrGpDt6rGD-1lO4yCCFySwNt1xH
She is not forgotten being the youngest of five. She has an imagination that is always running. Most of our conversations start with “Pretend that…”
I have childhood memories of times I was like Sienna. I was loud, crazy and eccentric. Most of those memories I was showing off for my siblings and their friends. I liked the attention.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1u3OOwz-5G2WMIEMqCaXXm8FBkI-AH3Tshttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Yk2O11HGk1o6-QraUJOl1PLPQ5OEtwcP
Then as I grew up I became more quiet, reserved, and introverted. I really don’t like attention. It will be interesting to watch and see what Sienna will be like as she grows older.

Derailed Rollercoaster

I told Marshall that I felt like a derailed rollercoaster this week. There was so much to do, not enough time and the things on my to-do list weren’t getting done. Moving was its own crazy and then my seasonal job started and I hit the ground running. In the middle of that I was hired and trained for a job starting after my seasonal job ends. That’s on top of kid stuff, house stuff, church stuff, PTA stuff, etc.
Today I locked myself out of my car for the first time ever in my life! Another example of the state of my brain.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1MhA5ovlh4JB-f8HU6p5FUOgNIM9ewzSH
Thankfully my friend brought me my extra set of keys.
It’s now the end of the week and thankfully I can say that the roller-coaster is back on track. I finished a lot of things on my to-do list, got more sleep, and had quality family time.
