Broken Bones

Tag was running around the house with Kade during the Super Bowl. He ran at full speed and crashed his left foot into the foot of the couch. He cried really hard. It was still hurting him two days later so I decided to take him to the doctor for peace of mind. His x-ray showed a broken left pinky toe. It was a buckle fracture just like James but James was his hand.

Tag's break didn't have a cast or splint but he wore a boot. I found some Ortho shoes but they weren't comfortable for him. We had a boot that Sienna got after a sprain. Tag decided that was the most comfortable

The same day Tag had his x-ray, James got his cast off.
He was given a splint to wear for the next few weeks.
Tag's bruising on his left side of his left foot.

Galentine's

Lynnlee's friends had a Galentine's Party at Brooklyn's house. I'm so grateful they all have each other. The majority of them became friends in sixth grade. They have helped each other transition to middle school and hopefully through high school.

Music Room Wall Design

Marshall really got into project mode. After finishing both back splashes, he tackled the wall in the music room. It was so plain before. We saw this pattern at the model home. He copied it for our wall. I love how it turned out!

Just Add Chocolate

We gave Cam and Brooke a date night to Just Add Chocolate for their Christmas present. We joined them for their date. We had dinner at Taqueria 27 before. Then we indulged in chocolate. You could dip things, make different flavors of cups, like a peanut butter cup, or make regular chocolates.

We did a variety and got a little bit of everything.

Cherry Peak

We went to Cherry Peak as a family. It is fun having the Get Out Pass again. It's a very small resort but fun to go to every few years.

Sienna's Sewing Lesson

Sienna asked if I would teach her how to sew. My sewing machine has been having problems. The sewing machine Lynnlee got from her birthday a few years ago stopped working after only being used a few times. I found a used one through Marketplace and picked it up the next day. After school Sienna got to sew some rice packs, a doll pillow, and a doll blanket.

Tag came and hung out with us in the art room.

Bathroom Back Splash

Marshall, James and Lynnlee had a fun weekend at home while we were gone. Marshall really enjoyed doing the back splash in our kitchen. He asked if there was anywhere else I would want back splash. I told him it would be fun to have it in our main floor bathroom. He found the perfect tile, pattern and grout. He installed it while I was out of town. It was fun to come back to it all finished. I love how it turned out!

Elite 7

Kade was invited to play with another La Roca team at a tournament called Elite 7. Older age groups play in St. George. His age group played in Mesquite. Kade and I were going to be the only ones going. Then Tag asked if he could go. Then Sienna asked if she could go. I feel like the more the merrier. Kade was also good with it not just being me and him. We had plenty of room in our hotel room. So Tag and Sienna got to go with us too.

We got to St. George Thursday afternoon. I was able to swim laps in the pool at the Washington Community Center. Kade, Tag and Sienna played in the other pool.

We went to Freddy's for dinner. It's a burger and shake place. It was ok. Not our favorite but fun to try.
Our motel was in Mesquite and had a pool and hot tub.

Friday the weather was cold and rainy.
We bundled up and stayed warm.
Kade got a lot of practice. They lost their games but he had fun.
We were killing time Friday after lunch. We looked up kid friendly activities in Mesquite. The Donkey History Museum was on the list. We decided to check it out.
It was pretty unique. The rock mining did look fun though.

Friday night Kade got to go to Big Shots which is basically the same as Top Golf. The whole soccer team went together to eat and golf. While he was at his activity I took Tag and Sienna to Chick Fil A and Fiesta Fun.

We didn't have as much time as I thought but enough time to mini golf and for them to play laser tag.

They had fun going from the pool and hot tub Friday night.
Saturday was cold but at least the sun was out.

We headed back home after his last game. Even though they lost every game, it was nice to have an excuse to get away. It was fun spending time with Kade, Tag and Sienna.
They were really great travel buddies!

End of January

I have enjoyed running in the daylight now that everyone is in school. When it is possible I like going running after they go to school instead of before everyone wakes up.

The North Lake Trail is one of my favorite routes.

I saw a bald eagle on my run.
The weather has been so mild for January. It's so nice! I love when Chewie goes on the deck and basks in the sunlight.
It never gets old taking pictures of Timp. It looks so majestic with the snow on it.

January Birthdays: Wonka

We hosted January birthdays. We decided to go with a Wonka theme as we celebrated Ivy, Uncle Dan, and Papa Kelly. Lynnlee did a great job making the cake with the help of Scarlett.

I helped her here and there. It ended up being five layers to get the right dimensions of the hat.
I love how it turned out!
My mom brought chocolate bars with golden tickets.
It is fun having Kasey's family close by. We had an awesome gathering with his family, Betsy, Ali's family, Grandma and Grandpa and my family.

Ali made Ivy's presents....a Wonka hat, suit case and jacket. She loved them each so much! We played the music and she played pretend.
