Pink Boots

Make sure to have a camera within reach when you are with Kaden. You will find lots of picture moments. He provides comedy relief for our family. Most these pictures speak for themselves.

He may look stuck in the rocking horse but he put himself here and stayed this way for half his show.

He found the babies' toys and binky and came down the stairs to show me.

He still likes this spider-man costume.

Good vs. Bad

The good news: we signed up for free bowling for the summer. Each kid can bowl two free games every Monday-Friday all through the summer. You have to pay for shoe rental which is the only down side. We checked it out on Tuesday and it's a nice, new bowling center.

The bad news: we went right before lunch and Kaden had a melt down after the first few minutes for the rest of the time we were there. Lynnlee wasn't much into it too so by the last game James was bowling for everyone. James was more than happy to oblige.

The good news: After bowling we went to IKEA, where kids eat free on Tuesdays.

The bad news: Kaden ran off from the kids section where they were watching a movie waiting for me to come back with lunch. The IKEA workers found Kaden and kept him safe but also called the police. I was happy he was safe but I felt like the worst mom ever and wonder why am I having twins?
***side note: I've been to IKEA countless times and left my 3 kids in the kid section to watch a movie while I get lunch and there has never been a problem and they stay put. So I did not think there would be a problem.
***Another side note: If the exhaustion of chasing a kid around a bowling alley and the emotional drama of losing your kid in a store and the police being called doesn't induce labor, then I don't know what does.

The good news: We went to Seven Peaks the next day to have a better day. We enjoyed swimming in the cool water on a hot day. My kids stayed close by and no one got lost. Everyone was happy and there were no melt downs.

The bad news: I got some kind of stomach bug and I spent the next 24 hours near a bathroom.

Good news: Today we are taking it easy!

First Lowry Reunion

We went to our first Lowry family reunion with Marshall's parents and siblings last weekend. We had such a good time and it was really fun to see everyone and catch up.

Kaden loved seeing his cousins.

He spend a majority of the time outside. Thank goodness for a weekend of beautiful weather.

These two boxes provided lots of entertainment for all the kids all weekend. It's so funny how much fun a box can be.

I'm blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law!

Saturday afternoon the kids enjoyed a birthday party for Raegan.

This was taken after a dress up relay race.

The first part of Saturday was spent at This Is The Place. We go once a year with the family and it's always a good time.

We ended the night with a talent show with wide variety. There definitely wasn't a shortage of laughs by the end. The last number ended with a dance party.

We took pictures Sunday. My kids got to see each of their Great Grandparents this weekend. I wish I would have gotten a picture with Grandpa and Grandma Collier but I am grateful we got picture with Grandpa and Grandma Lowry. James refers to Great Grandpa Lowry as the one who gives him presents at Christmas time.

Four generations of Lowrys!

The whole Lowry clan.

It was such a great weekend. I'm so glad we were able to go. We were so tired by the end but I wouldn't trade it for the late nights of laughing and playing games and being able to spend time with everyone.

Spa Girl

Lynnlee was spoiled going to a friend's birthday party. She got her first pedicure and then went out to lunch. She had the best time and was so cute when she got home telling me all about it. She loved the foot bath and how the bath changed colors.

This is Lynnlee and three cute girls she is friends with. It was a fun birthday party and Lynnlee was so glad she got to go.

Blueberry Girl

I have finally made it to 34 weeks which is the first goal and milestone. The 2nd goal is 36 weeks. Every day crawls by and I feel like I'm never going to get to the end. It's hard to stay busy to pass the time because my energy level is getting less and less.

My kids and I got snow cones to celebrate. Marshall had young mens so he wasn't able to come with us. I have check ups twice a week and so far everything looks good with the babies. I'm still dilated 2 cm. My doctor said if I go into labor they won't stop it now that I've made it to 34. I used to think I would go into labor really early but now that I've been dilated 2 cm for 3 weeks I don't know when I will go into labor. Hopefully I don't go all the way to 38 weeks. I might be the size of the blueberry girl on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and you will have to roll me everywhere. I'm to the uncomfortable stage so I feel so ready to be done but at the same time I know its best if they stay in longer so they don't have to go to the NICU. So we'll see what happens. For now I will enjoy having to pee every twenty minutes, constant back pain, fun comments and stares from strangers and not being able to bend over.

Almost Complete

The carpet was installed in our basement a week ago. The basement is coming along and is now in a liveable condition so if the babies were to come any day then we have a place for whoever is helping us can stay. We still have a project list like touch up paint, paint the doors, and a few other things. Those will get done at night after the kids are in bed.

I put all the toys down there and my kids have had fun having a new place to play. It's nice for me to have a new place to send them :)

This is under the stairs. We have designated this as the toy room. It has lights so the kids can play under there.

This is the family room.

This is the family/movie room from another angle with the screen built into the wall.

The bathroom is up and running with all of the accessories.

Looking down the stairs from the main floor.

Looking up from the basement.

The bedroom/office needs the closet doors put in and the desk put in there. We plan on doing a Murphy bed so it can be folded up out of the way when no one using it. That will be postponed until later. If the babies were to come we can at least get the queen bed made up for whoever is staying with us.

Power Lift

I'm thinking about getting one of these for my final weeks of pregnancy.

Big Boy

This little boy is amazing! He has pretty much potty trained himself.

About a week ago he would randomly go on the potty if we asked him to try. So I bought a bunch of underwear, potty treats and got out the frog potty. Monday morning we started out the 3-day-potty-training. Kaden was about 50% successful on day one. Day two he had less accidents and even got #2 out on the potty. That night he even woke himself up in the middle of the night to go. Day three he had no accidents and was able to keep the same undies on all day. That even includes three times going #2 in the potty. I'm amazed at how well he has done and what good timing too so I don't have three kids in diapers. The night time training has yet to be perfected but that's normal so I know he will get there eventually.

My mom watched him today while I was at the doctor and he even took himself to the potty without her saying anything to him. The only thing we need to work on is the order he does things. He likes to take his underwear off where ever he is and then run into the bathroom. This could be bad for public places.

Easy Peasy

Thanks to help from family I've been able to take it easy this last week. It definitely paid off because I had a check up today and I'm still only dilated 2 cm. Everything else looks good as far as the babies go. They are measuring about 3 lbs 12 ounces. They have plenty of fluid around them and baby boy is the lowest and head down. Baby girl is head up and higher up. I'm 32 weeks today and every week I can keep them in will decrease the time they would have to spend in the NICU. Even though its extremely uncomfortable now I have to keep reminding myself every minute that it is easier than going back and forth to the NICU.

Here is the plus side of having a big belly bump:
I have a built in pillow!

Balloon Rockets

A few weeks ago I was looking at an article that listed a bunch of summer activities for kids. Most of them required too many supplies or too much effort. One of the activities was simple and the supplies were things I already had on hand. The activity is balloon rockets. All you need is yarn or string, balloons, straws and tape.

First we ran two lines from the dining chair so James and Lynnlee could race. We only had pink balloons on hand which James wasn't thrilled about it but he got over it fast when he saw how much fun it was racing them. Each straw went on the yarn before we tied it to the chairs. Then we used masking tape to tape the balloon to the straw.

After we got the hang of it we strung a really long track from the family room into the kitchen.  It was really fun for the kids and entertaining for me too. Plus, it didn't take much effort to do it all.

If you are looking for something fun to do with your kids then put this on your list. You won't be disappointed.

Egg Belly

I had a check up this past week. These babies are anxious to get here apparently. I first started having lots and lots of braxton-hicks contractions at 26 weeks but I wasn't dilating so it was not a big deal. The contractions have not let up since then and now I'm dilated to a 2 at 31 and 1/2 weeks. I'm not on bed rest as of now but I'm suppose to take it easy. Now I will have two check ups every week including a non stress test each time. Friday and Saturday I went to the hospital and received a shot of steroids to speed up the babies' lung development. Hopefully they stay in and cook a little longer.

The doctor measures my belly each time and the size of my belly right now is 40 weeks. I feel 40 weeks and it messes with my mind because I feel ready but I'm not there yet with two babies. Most women carrying twins measure 45 weeks by the time they deliver twins!

May 18 - 29 weeks

May 25 - 30 weeks

June 1 - 31 weeks
I'm sticking straight out and feel like I have a big egg growing out.
