Lagoon

We enjoyed our Lagoon season passes for a second summer but it was a lot harder to find time to go. James worked a lot more, we had camps, practices, family in town, etc and it made it difficult to get in our weekly routine of going Mondays or Tuesdays. The other tricky thing was James had cross country every morning and then he had soccer a couple of afternoons per week. Kade also had soccer in the afternoons.

We made the most of it and went when we could. Definitely far less than last summer but I guess it shows the stage of life we are in.

Friday at Lagoon for Lynnlee and Kade with the Snow Family

More fun with Ali and Dan for the mini's birthdays.

We made it to Frightmares one night.

Sienna went on the Sky Coaster for her first time!

Cornbelly's for Kade and Sienna

Ali and Dan got to go to Cornbelly's with NuSkin. They had two extra tickets. It happened to be a night where Kade and Sienna were the only ones without soccer practice. So they got to go. It was perfect because I was doing flu shots at Pepsi so I was happy they had something fun to do.

Kade split up with Drew and his friend so Sienna got Ali and Dan to herself like she was their only child.

Utah State Capitol

I know I've been to the State Capitol but never on a field trip. My kids have all been but I didn't get to go with them. Last minute the Minis's class needed another chaperone. I was happy I could fill in and didn't have to work. I loved the field trip so much!

Our tour guide was so fun and made it a fun tour as he taught about all of the different rooms, areas, and let the kids ask questions at the end of each area.

We also went to the Daughter's of the Utah Pioneers Museum. That was fun too and neat to see so many artifacts.

Labor Day

We enjoyed Sunday dinner at Grandma Ruth's during Labor Day weekend.

My boys really love the keytar. They played Ghostbusters Duet with Papa Kelly.

We were home Monday. The kids played with friends while Marshall and I worked on basement projects. I can't take much credit but I was there to help Marshall while he built shelves, installed insulation and we filled the shelves with all of the boxes that were lining the wall in the family room.

This wall was lined with boxes.
Betsy gave us her old couch so now we have lots of seating for movie nights. It's so fun!
Marshall bought this cabinet from IKEA, put it together and we put it in this little area. It took me a few days to sort through the toys but I filled the cabinet with toys.
Little by little our basement is coming along.

Swiss Days Weekend and James's Birthday Party

Swiss Days weekend was quite the weekend! James had a friend birthday party to remember, my kids enjoyed Swiss Days and we got to spend time with Brooke and her kids.
On Friday I went to a viewing for my friend Chelsea's Dad.
Brooke took most my kids up to Midway.
Meanwhile Marshall loaded the suburban with James and his friends. James has always wanted to experience Swiss Days with his friends, also the hot pots and my parent's theater room. He got the weekend of his dreams. I packed sack dinners for each of them- sub sandwiches, chips, drinks, snacks, treats, etc. They went straight to Swiss Days where they got to all volunteer in the scone booth. Then they each earned a scone and a meal ticket for lunch Saturday.

They loved the scone booth.

They came home to my parent's house for the night. They had cereal and played Dr. Mario.
Meanwhile the rest of the kids had fun walking around the square.
Lynnlee and Brooke spent some time together.

Saturday morning most of James's friends ran the 10k. They were good friends to do that because none of them enjoy running.
I didn't register but ran with Kade and Tag. It was Tag's first 10k. He did awesome! I think we only walked a few times because they Tag had a side ache. Kade had a cold so he had a few times where the mucus made it hard.

James got a PR and beat Marshall's fastest 10k as well. James was pretty happy about that.
James and his friends didn't care much for the parade but the rest of us enjoyed it. Brooke's kids especially enjoyed it. This was their first parade like this.

Marshall took James and his friends to the hot pots during the parade. It was over cast and a little cooler so it was perfect.

They all had lunch at Swiss Days, walked around for a bit and then Marshall took them back to Lehi. It was a great birthday weekend and measured up to James's expectations.

The kids and I stayed until dinner and then headed back home. We enjoyed Swiss Days weekend!
