Boxes and Towers

Here are some fun and random pictures. It's funny when new boxes become the best toy around.

I try to entertain Kaden while James and Lynnlee are at school. It is not always easy with his short attention span. These blocks lasted awhile though. We built this tower and Kaden was so excited to knock it down. The best part is that after I took this picture Sienna bumped it and knocked it over before Kaden could.

Sienna's new favorite place is the bottom step. She sits on it, rests her right arm, and swings her legs. It's the cutest!

We love this warm weather and Sienna loved trying out this toy.

I use this chair as a gate to block the minis in the family room. They don't like it much and usually crawl over to it and stand here making sad, puppy eyes.

Everyone wants to wear glasses now that Lynnlee wears them. We found Marshall's old pair of glasses and Kaden and James like to take turns putting them on.

Every night after dinner this week we have been going outside. The minis swing while the rest of us play.

Marshall took this one on the trampoline. I sure love all my kiddos. I am one blessed mama!

Museum of Art

A few weeks ago we went to the Museum of Art at BYU with Marshall's parents. They had a really cool origami display plus lots of other Japanese pieces. We tried to make our own origami but it is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. The exhibit is there until June and I definitely recommend it.

Sunday Minis

It was really hard to get some good pictures this week because I got an ear infection Saturday night which made Sunday a really hard day. I've had a cold and sinus infection the past week and I didn't expect it to go to my ears. I wasn't feeling up to taking pictures but got just a few.

Sienna can pull herself up to standing now. I started putting up a gate so they have to stay in the family room and it makes them both so mad. They crawl over to the gate and cry. They will get used to it because this is how it will have to be now with two busy babies. Taggart can now crawl forwards! It's great except now I have two babies getting into things.

Her smile looks all innocent but she is fast as a cheetah and and likes to get into everything.

Taggart is on the loose. He is a little more stealth like and sneaky.

Can I just say how hard it is to take care of kids when you are sick?! I can't wait until the ringing in my ear goes away and I can hear our of my left ear again. It definitely makes me appreciate good health!

Lynnlee's New Glasses

Lynnlee went to her five-year-old well child check up and didn't pass the eye test. We went to an eye doctor a few weeks later and he confirmed that she needs glasses. We ordered her glasses a week ago online and every day she asked me when they would be here. We tracked the shipping and saw that they would be delivered today. She checked the mail every half hour after getting home from preschool. Finally by 3:00 they had arrived.
She picked the frames out all on her own. I think she did a pretty good job.

April Snow

We had a big snow storm about a week ago. It was perfect because it snowed all day, my kids played and had fun, and then it all melted the next day and spring was back.

Swinging

James's soccer practice is held every week at a park with swings! It's so awesome! So the minis got to swing together and were happy for about 45 minutes.

How could they not love swinging with each other? They are two peas in a pod.

Tulip Festival

We had a great time at the tulip festival last week with my mom. The minis were happy in the stroller. Yay! It is absolutely beautiful there! There are so many color and varieties. My kids wanted pictures by all of them. I included just a few.

Yes, that is Kaden in the background about to fall into the water. Thankfully he didn't. He was a hard one to watch because I couldn't keep him from the water.
This garden is my most favorite.

This was taken in the secret garden. It is probably my second favorite.

Now, for the scrapbook, here's all the pictures of Lynnlee and James with the flowers.

Sunday Minis

The minis were really good at church today. It as the best sacrament meeting we have had in a long time as far as all my kids behaving, no melt downs, etc. I hope there are more of these to come.
Tag is still crawling backwards all over the room. He is getting more and more frustrated about it though. We try putting toys just out of reach and he army crawls forward to get them. When it comes to being on his hands and knees though he just scoots back.

I took this a few days ago. Kaden and I were sitting on the couch and Tag was making the best faces.

Research Challenge

James participated in the research challenge at school this year. You could pick any topic you wanted to research out. He chose chameleons and how they change color. He read books, looked online and went to a pet store to gather information. Then he and Marshall put together a short video about what he learned. He presented it at his school last Thursday. He did a great job! You can click above or click HERE to see the video.

Easter '15

The Easter Bunny comes to our house on Saturday every year. It is just how we like to do it. So Saturday morning everyone waited patiently until they could go downstairs and find their Easter baskets and go on an Easter egg hung through the house.

That afternoon we went to my parent's house for more Easter fun. The minis stayed inside while the rest of the cousins went outside for an Easter egg hunt.

We went to Lehi's Easter egg hunt the week before. I was dreading it because usually it involves way too many kids, not enough eggs and parents shoveling eggs into their kids' baskets when the kids don't care or aren't even old enough. There were some crazy parents but luckily there were still plenty of eggs and the kids were spread out enough that no one got trampled.

I prepped everyone before hand and told them they might only get one egg and that they needed to be happy after, no matter how many eggs they got.

We never got around to coloring Easter eggs this year. I felt bad at first but then my kids didn't even notice or care so I can let the mom guilt go.

Sunday Minis at 9 Months

The minis are starting to feel better but still have runny noses and coughs so they stayed home Sunday with Marshall. They had their 9 month checkup today and it went really well. They are growing well and have good iron levels.

Taggart's stats: height  27.25"(15%) weight 18 lbs. 2.5 oz. (12%)
Sienna's stats: height 27.5" (45%) weight 18 lbs 5 oz. (33%)
They have been really sick twice since their last check up when Taggart weighed one pound more. Sienna has bounced back faster each time. He used to eat more than her but now they eat about the same. No wonder she has caught up to his weight.

Sienna crawls over to the stairs each time she is playing. She doesn't know how to go up them yet but it's her new favorite place to hang out.

Sickies

It has been a really, really hard week. Each week is hard with two babies but this week made all the other times seem easy. Kaden started napping again and has been happy to lay on the couch all day. That's when you know he really isn't feeling well. Any other time he is the energizer bunny.
Unfortunately it hasn't been the spring break I had hoped for. Four of my five came down with croup at the beginning of the week. Taggart has ear infections on top of that. So we have stayed put except for doctor's appointments. Thankfully my kids don't really seem to mind that we haven't done all the things I told them we would.

Kaden has had a tube in his eye for the past year. It took four months to get an appointment with the specialist. His appointment was yesterday and even though he was so sick, I still took him because I did not want to wait another four months. The assistant took out his tube right there in the office and Kaden didn't even cry. He just kept saying "that hurts!" He even held fairly still through it all. What a relief to have the tube out. Hopefully his eye is better now and won't have any more problems.

Sunday Minis

We were in Heber/Midway over the weekend and I completely forgot to take pictures of the minis on Sunday. I finally remembered on Tuesday when they were officially nine months old.
Sienna is crawling all over the house. She is hard to keep track of. One day I accidentally left the door to the basement open. I ran upstairs to change the laundry and Kaden was with the minis in the family room.  A minute later I heard Kaen yelling for my help. When I came down I found him holding on to Sienna at the top of the stairs, keeping her from falling down. He is a huge help and I'm so glad he pays so much attention to the minis.
Taggart still can only crawl backwards and it makes him frustrated. He does like to stand and prefers that most. Then once he gets tired he is happy to sit and play with toys.

Sienna kept crawling away every time I tried to take a picture of her and Taggart. Then Lynnlee sat by Sienna to help her stay put. Lynnlee still loves the minis but especially loves Sienna.
