Lehi Round Up Mini-Float Parade

Lehi Round Up week involves many parades. Friday night is the mini float parade. Lots and lots of wards in Lehi make mini floats. The theme for this year was The Good Ole Days. Our float committee did a great job making our float this year. Flinstones was the theme of our float. The bishopric and families are expected to be in the parade. There is a family in our ward that has five kids same as us, three boys and two girls. About ten years ago they were the Flinstones for Halloween. They had all of the costumes still and let us use them for our family. They worked out perfectly and fit everyone.
We were in the mini float parade Friday night. The kids had so much fun! Lynnlee and Kaden were in the grand parade Saturday morning too because they had so much fun Friday.
I was stressing over how to do my hair. Thanks to YouTube I watched a video over and over and used lots of hair spray and bobby pins to look like Wilma. Sienna and Taggart made the perfect Pebbles and Bam Bam.

Random Summer Pics Part 2

Here's more random pictures from the summer.

Taggart and his buddy Callen.

The minis got this fun airplane for their birthdays.

James's friend Miles moved to Turkey last summer. James was so happy that he came home for the summer.

Lynnlee went to a party and got this cool face paint.

Incredibles 2 with cousins!

Lots of pool time this summer.

Sienna was so cold all day when we were at James's soccer tournament a few weeks ago. The weather was weird that day. In the sun it was hot but in the shade it got cold and there was a cold wind. So I didn't think much about her being cold but when we got home she seemed tired and sure enough she had a fever. Oops! I should have caught it sooner.

Taggart loved the slide at aunt Jill's pool! We had a lot of fun swimming at her pool for family night last week.

Neptune Park with Kately and Drew. They made it to the top of the pyramid.

Taggart was taking pictures with my camera :)
This is what happens when you put in two cups of flour and then accidentally turn the mixer on high. Then you have a good laugh instead of getting really mad and frustrated.

Kiddie Pool Fun

Palisade State Park 2018

We had so much fun at Palisade State Park over fall break that we decided we wanted to go during the Manti Pageant. Charlie's family happened to be in town and so we were lucky to go with Papa Kelly, Grandma Ruth AND Charlie's family. It was great weekend!
Kaden, Tanner, Taggart and Conner are great buddies.

We went to the pageant after we set up camp. I highly recommend camping and going to the pageant. It finished at 11:00 and it was so nice to drive ten minutes to camp and go to sleep.
The pageant was very good. I was impressed that all my kids sat and watched it without any problems. Of course everything is better with cousins so that helped.
Lynnlee and Lydia are sister cousins. They were inseparable to the whole weekend.

We spent Friday at the lake. We took the kayaks out and played in the muddy sand. The water was so cold and it got really windy through the afternoon so that made kayaking really hard. We made the most of it though.

We went for a hike on Saturday morning before heading home. It was a short hike with great views.

The boys found a bunch of painted rocks.

Marshall hiked to the top of the mountain east of us and this was the view west.

We took bikes which is a must. The kids always have so much fun riding them around the camp ground.

Utah Valley Marathon

After running the Salt Lake City marathon I knew I wanted to run another one to see if I could figure out my leg cramping problem. I researched a lot and discovered it was the opposite problem. This whole time I was thinking my legs cramped because I needed electrolytes. Really though I was dehydrated and needed more water. After figuring that out I wanted to put my suspicions to the test. So I signed up for the Utah Valley marathon. I never thought I would run that race. Why would I want to run a canyon that I drove up driving in my whole life. Also, the canyon has lots of hills and is not the easiest course. I've now realized that you can't appreciate going down the hill if you don't have the uphills. I really feel like I've accomplished something difficult when I run up the hill or mountain and then back down. This is compared to a whole winter of running flat roads around west Lehi. I got really excited for the Utah Valley marathon because I knew it would challenge me. The training also got more exciting running from my house half way up Suncrest and back.

The race expo was awesome! The kids all got to decorate hats and lots of other free swag.

The start line was 8 miles off highway 189 in Wallsburg. It was a chilly morning but appreciated so I wouldn't have to run too much in the heat.

I drank water every station. I wasn't really thirsty for the first few stations but just drank it to stay hydrated. Then by mile 9 I had just run up a big hill in the sun and was thirsty. From then on I was so thirsty the whole race. I filled up my water bottles each station starting at mile 13. That slowed me down a little at each station but I didn't get any leg cramps. Even from mile 22 to the finish when I would normally have lots of leg cramps I was completely fine. I was tired but no leg cramps! I finished in 4 hours exactly. I wish I could have been faster but I was so happy that I didn't cramp up and that was a win. Seventh marathons a charm. I would love to run another marathon this year but my family needs more time. Marshall has so many more obligations since being called as bishop. I will probably just pick one marathon a year and that should be a good balance.
