The Fog is Getting Thicker and Leon's Getting Larger!

Ok Peeps. I am not one to take pictures of my belly while I'm pregnant. I did not do this for my other pregnancies. I hated being in any pictures. I still don't like being in pictures with my prego belly but I have made an exception this pregnancy. Since its twins and I've been told its so different that I figured why not document it. So at the beginning of February the baby update I got for the week talked about how the babies would double in size in the next month. I was barely showing at that point and I was really nervous wondering how big and how fast. Well, here are the pictures to show that the pregnancy update didn't lie. In fact I feel like they might have tripled in size with how big I am over one month's time.
Feb 16 - 16 weeks
Feb 23 - 17 weeks
March 2 - 18 weeks
March 9 - 19 weeks
March 16 - 20 weeks
March 23- 21 weeks
Oh the looks I get right now from people are the worst. They make eye contact and then I watch their eyes stare at my belly. It's only going to get worse as I get bigger so I guess I better get used to it.

p.s. The title of this post is a quote from a favorite movie of mine, "Airplane."

St. Pat's Day

I don't need a leprechaun to come to my house and wreak havoc on St. Patrick's Day because I already have 3 little ones who do a great job creating messes everyday.

Growing up we wore green, had a special dinner with green food and the milk was colored green and that was it and I felt like it was enough. I feel the same with my kids. There are enough big holidays through the year and St. Patrick's Day does not need to be one of them.

My mom gets shirts for all the grand kids every year. We couldn't miss out on the opportunity to take a picture.

Lynnlee's preschool party was the day after and it included crazy hair day.

March Birthday Beauties

Birthdays are fun for my kids because they get to celebrate with our little family on the day of their birthday and then there is always a family party with my parents and siblings to celebrate as well. This year Lynnlee even gets a party with friends so she is one spoiled girl. With so many parties spread out over the next week, she is confused on which day is actually her birthday. Each day she wakes up and asks me if its her birthday.

She was so excited for the party at my parent's house because she got to have a barbie cake.
She shares her birthday month with Aunt Ali and Aunt Angeline. When I told her that she said, "I love them!"

Lynnlee and her cousin Ashlyn.

After dinner the kids wanted to dress up and Aunt Ali joined in the fun by dressing up in her duct tape gown from her Junior Prom. The boys wanted to be princes but since we didn't have dress ups for them we tied black garbage bags around them as capes and told them they were super heroes who save princesses. They were excited about that.

I'm excited for the week ahead to celebrate Lynnlee's 4th birthday!

Blankets for Two

My belly babes got their first blankets last night. My mom and niece surprised me with them at our family's party for March birthdays last night. They look so soft and comfy. Thanks mom and Lily! 18 weeks to go!

Not Identical

We have been anticipating our ultrasound last week since the day I found out I was pregnant. I kept trying to talk Marshall into going to a fetal photos place at the mall at 16 weeks so we could find out the genders sooner but there was no convincing him.

The good thing about waiting is that it made the real ultrasound very exciting. James, Lynnlee, Kaden and my mom came back to the ultrasound room with Marshall and me. I was hoping Kaden and my mom would be able to stay longer but it was during Kaden's naptime and he was very restless. Thankfully at least he was happy through the announcement of the genders and then my mom took him to Ali's so he could nap. James was excited that at least one was a boy. Lynnlee was disappointed at first since they both weren't girls and the girls are still out numbered but later was happy that she at least gets one sister. James and Lynnlee stayed with us and had fun looking at the babies spines, skulls, hearts, feet, lets, arms, etc.

The ultrasound was with a Perinatologist at Timpanogos Regional Hospital considering Lynnlee's heart history. Heart defects don't run in our family but since we've had a heart baby our chances of having heart problems double. So at first we were had a 1% risk and now we have a 2% risk of having a baby with a heart defect. We received good news all around. Their hearts are healthy, as well as spines, no cleft palate, no clubbed feet, healthy kidneys, bladders, stomachs, and brains. We couldn't be more grateful to not only have one healthy baby but two!

Baby boy is breeched at the bottom and baby girl is transverse laying across the top of my belly but their heads are together. It was really cute to see. Baby girl is very active and all over the place. They each weigh 10 ounces. They are measuring right on track for 19 weeks.

Since they are a boy and girl we can now rule out that they are not identical. My body produced two eggs and I blame it on all the running and marathon training prior to getting pregnant. I was in hyper-production mode, in my opinion.

Planet ?

Sometimes I wonder what planet Kaden comes from. He entertains me everyday. Except for the days when he sneaks into the bathroom and empties the drawers, plays with the toilet brush and gets toilet water all over the floor. Hopefully he can get over his toilet fascination before my hands are occupied with two babies.
This morning Kaden put on this foam visor upside down. I asked him if I could take a picture and he said yes then sprawled out on the rug for his pose.

He loves wearing Lynnlee's sunglasses. He also needs a hair cut so the poof head adds to this diva boy.

Playing at the park one day.

He thinks the island is his 2nd bed/play area/dance floor/etc. I find him up here all the time doing whatever he wants like he owns the place.

There's no question, I definitely love my little Kaden!

Jack and Jill Lanes

Last week we went bowling for family night. You can tell by James's facial expression how excited he was to be bowling.

It's fun watching James's and Lynnlee's reactions when they are bowling. Lynnlee has usually turned her back and is walking away before he ball gets to the pins. James watches until the last pin drops just to make sure as many fall down as possible.

My bowling buddies.

I actually didn't bowl since my belly looks like I'm holding a bowling ball under my shirt. Thank goodness for Marshall and helping Kaden and Lynnlee each time it was their turn.
