YD 2

I was hoping for a sizzling hot day Monday but the colder weather didn't stop us from going out on the lake. We still had fun and were entertained by 3 little monkeys.

James and Lynnlee wanted to go swimming but the water was only 57 and the outside temperature was in the 60s. So he and Lynnlee just took turns going up and down the ladder dipping their legs in.

The kids tried talking Marshall in to jumping in but it was too cold.

What nap time on the boat looks like.

Lynnlee warming up after dipping her legs in the water.

Help!

Kaden finds himself in these situations pretty often these days. He is definitely the active and curious baby yet in our family. He also likes to climb and explore. He keeps me on my toes. This was taken at my parent's house. He decided to climb under the high chair after I had just taken him out from eating dinner.

Zoo Zoo

We had a great time going to the zoo with our friends. It's been too long since we've hung out. We will really miss Chelsea and her cute boys when they move away.

Thanks Chelsea and Amy for a fun day!

Weekend Away

Marshall was in Nashville last week for work so my kids and I stayed in Heber. It was a lot of fun most the time. They had a lot of fun playing with Lucy, playing at the park, riding on the boat, playing with Aunt Betsy and swimming in the lake. With all of the fun, it's no surprise they were exhausted by Sunday. They were ticking time bombs for the biggest melt downs of the year. Which conveniently happened throughout the day to each child on Mother's Day. I have even more appreciation for single moms now. Definitely not a Mother's Day for the memory books. Thanks to my mom and Betsy for all of their help through the weekend. I would not have survived without them.

Here are some pictures of the good times from the weekend:

Kaden caused all sorts of trouble getting into everything at a non baby proof house. He's fast so I had a hard time keeping up with him.

He loved the wagon ride to the park. He looks like such a big boy!

These three had the best time together. They put swim suits on and played in the sprinkler on Friday. I love this weather!

It wouldn't be a trip to Heber without a stop at the DK. Kaden made sure to get his share of the fries.

Saturday we enjoyed our time on the new boat. The boat is so fun and perfect for the whole family. My kids really surprised me. Kaden giggled and smiled when we went fast. James swam in the lake with his cousins.

Good thing the boat has a bathroom. Lynnlee definitely had it broken in by her 4th time using it. Thanks to Betsy for helping her since I had my hands full with Kaden.

I know this face has you convinced he was unhappy but it's just the life jacket squeezing his cheeks. He really was a happy boater.

Lynnlee didn't want to get all the way in but had fun going up and down the ladder dipping her legs in.

These two were chatting away about their boating experience. Ok, I don't know what they are really talking about but they were so cute together.

This was the only picture I got from Sunday. One of the only times they were all happy :)

Preschool Graduate

James had preschool graduation this morning. It was beautiful weather and it went well. My mom came and it was so nice to have her help with Kaden. Lucy, James's cousin, came and James was yelling to her during the program so that was exciting :)

I can't believe he is going to be in kindergarten next year!

Birthday Breakfast

There is so much going on right now and my birthday landed in the mix. Our renters moved out so we are trying to get it turned over for new ones, Marshall left today for a work trip in Nashville, and I've been working more. Just feels like we have something schedule every second of the day. I wasn't how the day would go. Birthdays are so different when you are older. James asked if we could have a pinata. We didn't do a pinata but the munchkins and I went out for donuts and chocolate milk to start off the day.

After that I had to go to the dentist to get a crown. It was the tooth that broke the day before my race. My birthday was the only day I could schedule it so that added excitement to the day.

My Mom took me out of lunch to Rhonda's pies. The pot pies were delicious and it was fun to go out with my Mom. I'm so blessed to have her!

That night we went out to PF Changs for dinner. It was delicious food and awesome company. It was a good day! Thanks all for the birthday wishes!

Geoffrey the Giraffe

Lynnlee had a gift card from Geoffrey the Giraffe at Toys R Us from her birthday. We stopped by there Friday night. My kids had fun playing on/with all the toys. Here are a few pictures.

Curious George

We have not been on a family vacation in so long that its kind of embarrassing to admit. Thank goodness we were finally able to get away last weekend. After we told James we were going to St. George he kept calling it Curious George. While we were there he said, "I know why Daddy doesn't have to work, because there isn't a Lowry Doors here." He said all sorts of funny things while we were there and at Zion National Park. He thought it looked like Radiator Springs. We had a really good time and I hope to go on a family vacation regularly from here on out.

We left early Friday morning. The kids were still asleep and we put them in the car in their pajamas. We let Kaden get out during the potty stop. He was very entertained by the steering wheel.

Lynnlee rocking her sunglasses.

James using his binoculars to see out the window a long the way. All the kids were so good in the car on the way there.

We got there early Friday so we had all day to play. We started off climbing around the Red Cliffs. Kaden took this first picture of us. Ok so not really...Kaden rode in the back pack and happened to be exactly behind Marshall for this picture so you can't see him.

Lynnlee did really well hiking around, much better than I expected. She got scared a few times though and said, "I don't know about this!" in her cutest little voice.

We spent a couple of hours here. It was so much fun! After, we went swimming at the new rec center in Washington. It is a lot like the one in Lehi. My kids couldn't get enough of the water. After a few hours I finally talked them into leaving to get some dinner.

We spent Saturday at Zion National Park. It was an adventure. We brought Camel Backs so the kids wouldn't get dehydrated. They drank so much water before starting the hike that it took 3 bathroom trips from the trail head to the lodge before we actually started. They definitely did not get dehydrated.

James took a few pictures while we were on the grass in front of the lodge:

James even took this one too. I think he has potential.

We hiked to Emerald Pools.

Kaden's not amused face.

We took a break at the upper pools and let the kids play in the water.

Marshall caught this frog. The kids loved watching it! They squealed every time it moved.

We drove through the tunnel after we got done hiking. This was on the way up.

We saw this along the way.

That night we drove by the temple. We came home Sunday. It was definitely not a long enough trip but it was packed full of fun. Can't wait to go again!
