Field trip to the Zoo

We took a field trip to the zoo last week for preschool. I thought there wouldn't be very many animals out since it is winter but I was wrong. Most the animals were out and they were very active and entertaining. Even though I'm pregnant I'm cold all the time. The baby heater will probably kick in when summer comes. I wasn't too excited about walking around in the cold weather but luckily it ended up being the warmest day of the week!

Silly faces!

The day we went was free. Through winter they offer free zoo day the last Wednesday of the month. The last free day for winter in the last Wednesday in February. I definitely recommend it. It wasn't really crowded even though it was free.

Snow Fun

It has been such a weird winter! James has been wanting to play in the snow but we haven't had any. It started snowing last Monday night and we couldn't get James to come in the house because he wanted to keep playing in the snow. I promised him we could play the next day after he got out of preschool.

So the second he got home from preschool we put on our snow gear and headed outside before the snow all melted. They had fun making this snowman.

Lynnlee reminded me of the boy of "Christmas Story." Her snow clothes are so puffy and thick that she couldn't get up on her own after she fell down. She rolled around and whined until I picked her up. I couldn't help but laugh every time.

I pulled them around in the sled for a little while. They enjoyed it and were ready to come inside when we finished. I forgot how messy the snow makes your house. I guess that is one good thing about the lack of snow. I haven't had to mop up muddy foot prints or clean up melted snow on the floor.

Updates

So if you haven't heard, we are expecting #3. My due date is July 14th. I find out the gender in 2 weeks! James thinks it is a girl and comes up with random objects for names. Today he was set on calling it "Peanut." I think it's a girl since the pregnancy has been similar to my pregnancy with Lynnlee. Marshall hopes I mean thinks it's a boy.

I've been so tired I haven't even been on my blog. I usually blog while my kids are taking naps but since I've been so tired I'm usually taking naps with them. I'm starting to feel better so hopefully my blog can get some more attention.

In other news, I quit my job about 2 weeks ago. I decided it was time to become a full time Mom after the cons of working started out weighing the pros of working. It was definitely a hard decision and one that I had to seriously think and pray about for a few weeks. I feel good about it and it has been nice to be home with my kids.

Family Fun

In January we had the opportunity to stay at a family member's condo at Powder Mountain. It was a fun, quick getaway. We swam in the pool the night we got there. The next morning we had hot breakfast and then put on our snow gear. My kids were super excited to play in the snow since we haven't had much this year.

Here are they are ready to go.

Silly faces!

The snow was way crusty so our snowman was very little and not very round but James and Lynnlee didn't care.

We went sledding a few times down a groomed run that was part of Powder Mountain. Luckily the resort wasn't very crowded!

It's nice to have the little getaways every now and then.

Family Christmas

Christmas Eve the nieces and nephews on the Lowry side performed the nativity. It was really cute. It reminded me of when I used to do that at my family Christmas party growing up. I'm glad my kids could participate and hopefully it helped remind them why we celebrate Christmas.

We snapped this picture after sacrament meeting on Christmas morning.

We enjoyed spending time Christmas day with our families. All of Marshall's family was able to be in Midway for probably are last Christmas all together. Glad we could be there too!
