Week in Pictures

Last week was a great week!

Monday we went to Liberty Park and Tracy Aviary. They had fun playing on the splash pad. Marshall wasn't planning on going with us but he happened to be in Salt Lake at the same time so he stopped by and walked through Tracy Aviary with us.

It was so perfect because when we got there James told me he wished Marshall could be there too. Then Marshall surprised him and made his day.

The bald eagles are James's favorite.

What's that miniature bald eagle doing on his shoulder? :)

Checking out the chairs. This one was definitely "just right."

Peppermint Place just moved to American Fork. Wednesday we took Katelyn and Drew along with us to check it out. Everything looked so yummy!

Thursday we went to the splash park with friends from our neighborhood.

Friday my mom watched my kids while Marshall and I went with my dad to Colorado for a Chiropractic seminar about nutrition. My kids had so much fun with their grandma. Thanks Mom! We had a great time in Colorado and it sparked my desire to become a Nutrition Consultant and Certified Nurse Midwife. Maybe one day. Thanks dad for taking us along!

Snow Cone Sunday

Our neighbors make snow cones about once a month and anyone is invited. It is so much fun to get out and visit. Someone brought bunnies and bunnies are Lynnlee's favorite animal so she was in heaven. Too bad her cute smile is not enough to convince us to get a bunny.

Also on Sunday....while we were getting ready for church James was freaking out about his shirt not fitting. I guess the picture doesn't really do it justice but the sleeves ended above his wrist and he couldn't button it. His clothes were sitting next to Kaden's so we realized he had put on Kaden's white shirt. I'm amazed James could even get it on this far. Ha ha, we had good laugh.

Smoot Park

Last week we went to Bountiful for a little get together with friends from our old ward. There are only a few that still live in the ward but we all met in the ward. We get together every summer and its always so fun to see how much everyone's kids have grown. Such a great group of moms!

We met at Smoot Park. There is a stream that runs along the side of the park. James loved walking up and down it.

Energizer Bunny

Kaden cracks me up. He is full of energy and always happy. His personality is starting to show and I think he is going to be the entertainer of the family. He loves doing silly things that make the rest of us laugh. I think since he has two older siblings that are very talkative he realizes he has to do even more to get a word in and get attention.
He always has a serious look on his face when he's drinking his milk.

Kaden saw James hiding in Marshall's clothes in our closet. Now he loves hiding in there.

I haven't taken my piano books out of the box yet because I'm sure Kaden would rip them apart. So they stay in the box and Kaden still managed to get to them.

Showing off his hat.

Not sure what he's trying to accomplish.

He's entertaining Marshall while the other two camp out on the floor watching a movie.

Kaden's Big Day

Kaden is officially one-year-old! He was spoiled and got to celebrate a few days. We had a pool party at Betsy's Friday and celebrated her's and Kaden's birthdays. It was fun spending time with family. My kids can't get enough of her pool and she is their favorite aunt so it was a good time.

Checking out his new toy.

Sunday night we gave him a cupcake and let him dig in. He had no problem getting messy.

On the morning of Kaden's birthday we walked into his room singing Happy Birthday. The look on his face was priceless. First he smiled and then he got a confused look on his face and backed away into the corner of his crib. I think it scared him.

He got a K shaped pancake for breakfast. The rest of the day involved going to story time and playing with his new toys. Then topped off by going out to dinner.

Our friend, James Cawley, took family pictures for us as well as pictures of Kaden. He did a great job. I love how this picture captures the happy boy Kaden is.

Happy 4th!

Our fourth of July plans didn't go completely as planned but plan B was worked out and was just as fun. We went out to Denny's to start the day off. How do you entertain three kids while waiting for the food to be served? You take pictures of each other.

We went to Heber after and spend time with my family. I got to shop at the outlet mall with Betsy. Then we headed home for our neighborhood festivities.

I love our new neighborhood! Every year there is a Cul-de-sac of Fire. We had activities throughout the day starting with water games and activities for the kids. That was followed by the bike parade. Lynnlee rode her trike. James rode his bike. They decorated them with pipe cleaners, ribbon, and paper.

We also had a BBQ, kids crafts and fireworks. Lynnlee is sporting the visor she decorated.

This is the first year that my kids were happy for the fireworks. No one got scared and they actually seemed to enjoy it.  At the end of the fireworks we walked two houses down and were home.

Miracles

If you have had a baby with a clogged tear duct then you know how awful it is wiping their eyes every minute of every day for a whole year. It is difficult to stay on top of so your baby end up with a green goopy eye half the time. Kaden had a clogged tear duct since birth. The only time it would clear up was when he was on a round of antibiotics. The doctor told me most cases clear up on their own by 9 months. Kaden's didn't so we had to take him to a pediatric ophthalmologist who prepped him for eye surgery to open up the duct. The doctor said she would give Kaden until he is 12 months to see if it would clear up and if not then he would have surgery. I was not excited for him to have surgery. I know their are worst things but surgery is so expensive and we have already gone the rounds with Lynnlee. You never know how babies are going to do with anesthesia and all that goes with it. We have been fasting and praying for a miracle. Kaden turns one on Monday so time is running out. I'm am here to tell you we witnessed a miracle this week. Kaden's eye cleared up and so no surgery for him! Woo!

K & C

Kaden chillin with his cousin Clara. They are a few months apart.

It's not very often I get a picture of these two in their Sunday clothes.
