Ragnarly!

This past weekend I had the priviledge of running the Wasatch Back with a team of 12 fabulous women! We had a good time and did better than we thought. We ran 188 miles in 29 hours! We placed 14th out of 80 women only teams.

Here are some fun facts about the relay:

-It starts in Logan go as far South as Heber and then finishes in Park City. It is 188 miles total.
-There are 12 people per team and each team member runs 3 separate legs of the race.
-The team splits up in 2 vans with 6 people each.
-Each team member will run 12-18 miles total in 24 hours.
-Someone is always running even through the night hours.
-This year there were 650 teams participate which equals out to 7,800 people.
-The legs I ran were a total of 18 miles.
-My team was all women.
-Our team name was 'Alkimos' (Greek for strong).
-We finished 14th out of 80 women only teams.
-We ran 188 miles in 29 hours.
-I got 1 1/2 hours of sleep during the whole race.

I was in the same van with these awesome ladies!

This is right before the "baton" handoff (we actually had a slap bracelet) for my first leg of the race.

This was at the hand off for my 2nd leg of the race.

This was my last leg of the race coming down Deer Valley Resort. It was a beautiful view. Too bad you can't see it in this picture!

My wonderful team!

10 Months Old

James is ten months old. It's been a crazy month with moving and a fun month to see him start walking. We give credit to his cousin Kjersti who is 6 months older than him. He sees her walking around and he copies her. He loves playing with her and following her around. Here are some pictures of what we've been enjoying this past month.

James loves fruit! He has a total of 5 teeth now. Two on top and three on the bottom that help him eat more solids.

Since we live closer to his cousins he gets to play with them a lot more. He is still learning how to play nice.

He loves playing in this tunnel.

He loves bike rides!
We've love having a backyard!

Walk This Way

James took his first steps last night. Of course it was the night I ended up being at work (I don't work that often). Luckily Marshall caught it on video.

The mullet has got to go

James had his first "real" hair cut last Friday. I say "real" hair cut because we had to trim his mullet when he was 3 weeks old but I don't think that really counts. It was more like trimming baby fuzz. This past week we realized it was time after we noticed his mullet and... shaggy hair.

Bonnie (Marshall's sister) cut his hair. We entertained him with toys for the first part.

When it came time to trim the top he wasn't too happy about having his head and hair touched.

It was all better after giving him a popsicle.

Bonnie did a great job. Thanks so much!
