Two Days, Two Splash Pads

It's a lot of work going out but I prefer it over staying home. It's too hot to play out in the yard and I don't like being stuck in the house all day. We went to two different splash pads in two days.

Sienna was all geared up for the splash pad but she barely touched it. She was too busy mooching food off of my basketball friends.

Tuesday we met up at the splash pad with the ladies I play basketball with. They are lovely ladies and I'm so glad we get together in the off season.

Some of the older kids let Lynnlee and Kaden play tennis with them.

Wednesday was overcast but that didn't stop everyone from playing. Everyone loved this splash pad and they did not want to leave when it was time to go home.

I caught Taggart in action as he was in awe of filling up his container with water.

AF 10k

My neighbor was suppose to run the American Fork 10k last Saturday. She was injured so on Wednesday she asked me if I wanted to run for her. Of course I told her I would love to. The race course was where I used to run when we lived in American Fork so I loved it.

I felt really good the whole race. I ended up taking 3rd place out of all the women there! I took 2nd in my age group. I won a free pair of running shoes ($100 Altra gift card)! I was stoked. I need new running shoes bad so it couldn't have been better timing.

The pace on my watch isn't the average pace for the race, but it is the pace I was sprinting at through the finish.

The print out of my results had an error. I definitely didn't run it in 29 minutes at a 4:48 min/mile pace. If I did I would be running at the Olympics instead.
My official time was 44:34 and that is a 7:10 min/mile pace. I'm not good at very many things so it's fun to do something that I can place in the top.

Lehi Round Up '16

Lehi Round Up week is so fun! There's a picnic in the park with live music, rodeo, and lots of parades. It was our first rodeo and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Marshall and Kaden had to leave early and we missed getting a picture of them. James loved the bull riding and Lynnlee loved the rodeo royalty and the barrel racing.

Our neighborhood also had an outdoor movie that week. We watched Minions. We live in the best neighborhood.

Friday night there was a mini float parade. We went with our neighbors and she caught a picture of most of the kids. We kept the minis and other toddlers off the street by us. So much for staying safe though because Sienna tipped over in her camping chair and got a huge goose egg on her forehead.

James and Lynnlee sat by friends at the parade on Saturday. It was so weird only having Kaden and the minis with us.
They were all pretty mellow. Taggart had a worried look most of the time.

Battle Creek Falls

We went to Battle Creek Falls for last week's hike. We took friends James's and Lynnlee's friends along who are brother and sister. They were good little hikers. It was a great hike because it was only .60 mile. It wasn't steep and by the time Lynnlee started to get tired we were to the waterfall.

They got side tracked a lot and wanted to explore,

Snack time at the waterfall.

The waterfall is hard to see from the trail. All of a sudden look over and there it is peaking behind the trees.

This is the view of Utah Valley on the way down the canyon.

Lowry Family Reunion '16

We had a great time at the Lowry family reunion. It was a weekend packed full of fun activities and family time. The weather was beautiful! We participated in a service project, went swimming at the Provo Rec Center, hiked to the Timpanogos waterfall, watched an outdoor movie, had a talent show, played bingo, took family picture and ate yummy meals in between. It was a memorable weekend for my kids!

The minis got hand stand lessons from their gymnast cousin, Addie.

Sienna sprinted up the path during the hike. It was so cute to see her whip out her running moves.

Don't be deceived by the minis faces. They did not like the hiking back pack but hopefully it will grow on them.

I will do a post with the family pictures but here is a sample.

We ended off the weekend with Father's Day. Marshall is the best dad! Our kids picked his shirt out all on their own one day while we were shopping. He deserves it because he works hard for us!

Weekly Minis and Lynnlee

The minis are loving summer. They are entertained by the older kids and so they are much happier. Lynnlee loves playing with Sienna so she is in a lot of the pictures too.
This picture was taken a few weeks ago before church.

Taggart loved getting a ride on the scooter with me. He had the biggest smile on his face.

Occasionally we walk to church even though it's really hot and we walk in dripping with sweat. The minis like the wagon ride.

I've been debating for weeks on whether to trim Sienna's hair. I'm so glad I did to get it all evened out. She wasn't so sure about it but didn't cry and sat still during it.

Sienna doesn't love the bath so much but Taggart does. He never wants to get out and he loves pretending to swim.
