Park City Ski Day

I haven't gone skiing twice in one week in years. I got to go skiing with Ali on Tuesday and then with Marshall on Friday. It was a little tricky with work but I squeezed it all in. We went to Park City on the Park City side. We got to ski Scott's bowl, Jupiter and McKonkie's. They are expert only and I haven't skied them in years. There was fresh snow and the powder was amazing, especially for the end of March!

Messi

Tag and his friends planned to each wear one of Messi's jerseys from the different teams he has played on. I'm amazed that they each remembered to wear them on the planned date. I told Tag to ask one of the school aides to take a picture. Thankfully Cami, one of the most friends aides took a picture and texted it to me.

Deer Valley

I got to go to Deer Valley with Ali. I always dreamed of the day when my kids were in school all day and Ali and I could get season passes and ski to our hearts content. My kids are in school all day and have been for a few years. The tricky thing about ski season is that it is also when my job at Cotiviti is in full swing and I'm working 20-30 hours per week. It's too hard to step away and ski weekly. So there is not a season pass in my future but it's ok. I enjoyed our one ski day and we skied our hearts out. We got to ski Empire which is all black diamonds and double black diamonds. I haven't gotten to ski that in years and it was so fun. Plus it was a powder day and the snow was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better ski day with my sister.

Thanks mom and dad for lunch!
I had a stye in my right eye and as it got better I had a bunch of swelling and bruising. You can see the bag under my eye and it was all bruised. My goggles made it worse so I looked really beat up during lunch.

Lynnlee went to Kjersti's Sweet 16 dance party. She was excited to spend some time with Katelyn and she loves going to dances.

Montana

My co worker talked me into working an event near Helena Montana with her. I traveled to Delta with her last year and enjoyed it but driving 7 hours to Montana is a different thing. Marshall was good with it and I decided it would be fun for me. The farthest I have driven straight was 5 hours to Mesquite so I was wanting to push myself and drive longer. I woke up early Wednesday morning and went for my morning run. Then I got kids off to school. I worked for about an hour and a half for Cotiviti. Then I took a quick power nap. This was key to making sure I wouldn't be driving drowsy. So I ended up leaving around 10:30 and I drove about five over the speed limit the whole way. The weather was great and I didn't have any traffic. I enjoyed the drive there. I took I-15 all the way and it was fun to see new places. Butte was so cool and interesting looking. I wish I had a picture but I couldn't drive safely and get a picture. I pulled into Helena around 5:00pm.  I checked into the hotel and they gave me a key. I went up to the room with my bag and walked in. The first thing I saw was an unmade bed. Then I saw a dirty bathroom and beer on the kitchen counter. I had a bad feeling and got out of there quickly. I went to the front desk and they gave me a new room and one that no one was staying in. I was a little freaked out after that. The temple was a few blocks from my hotel. I picked up take out and then drove by it. It was so beautiful and peaceful. It was right in the middle of a neighborhood.

The weather forecast did not show snow. Jodi and I were so surprised to wake up to snow on our cars. We met up in the lobby and then drove to Townsend in a caravan. I was grateful she had been there before so I could follow her. It was so hard to see! It was about forty minutes from Helena in the mountains at a Quarry. Thankfully most of the roads were plowed and there was just a short few miles of snow packed roads. The clinic went really well and we were on the road around 11:30am. We caravaned to Idaho Falls. It was longer to drive to I-15 so we went through West Yellowstone instead. It was so beautiful. I was grateful I had energy to drive even though we had woken up so early. I also had a sack lunch that I snacked on for the four hour drive so that helped.
We got to Idaho Falls around three and took it easy for the afternoon. Then we met up and went to dinner at Jakers. I had the best salad there. It was massive and so yummy!
We stayed next to the falls so I walked around that night at sunset. It was beautiful!

I headed home Friday morning and got home before the kids got back from school. It was a fun and quick work trip. I don't think traveling for work is something I will do regularly but definitely fun to try it out!

Lynnlee's 14th Birthday

Lynnlee had fun birthday celebrations over a few days! Her friend party was the Saturday before. Everyone came here and had pizza and she opened presents.

Then Marshall and I took all of them to Classic Skating. Everyone could choose between skates and blades. There were walkers they could use. None of her friends had been and couldn't do either so they slowly went around. Lynnlee got new blades for her birthday so we was excited to try them out.
The night got a little crazy when one of her friends fell and broke her arm. The friend's mom picked her up and took her to the ER. Such an unfortunate turn to the night!
The day before Lynnlee's birthday we went to Provo to her dermatology appointment. Crispy Cone is really close so we went and got a treat. I love Crispy Cone so much! Yum!
Her actual birthday was a great day! We started off with presents and banana chocolate chip pancakes.

She wanted to go shopping so Marshall took her and Cam's family joined a long.
Then she went to Dry Creek with some friends while I made her dinner.

We had birthday dinner and ended the night with her favorite ice cream. It's been another great year for Lynnlee. She had more heart appointments and testing but everything is looking good. She has a nice group of friends who are kind and supportive to each other. She enjoys school and has straight As so far even in the advanced classes. She loves to babysit and makes a good amount of money babysitting for a couple of families in our neighborhood. She is active and loves soccer and rollerblading. She enjoys baking, arts and crafts. She is very responsible and I can always count on her to help her siblings, help with dinner, and go with me on shopping trips.

Manti Temple

We went to the Manti Temple open house with the Lowry family. The line was very long. We waited for over two hours! Thankfully we had eaten a bunch of snacks right before and had coats so we stayed warm. I also am grateful my kids are older and could handle the long line. They enjoyed playing with cousins.

The temple was beautiful! They kept it pretty much the same so it felt just like I remembered it from when Marshall and I did a session there over fourteen years ago.

Night Skiing at Brighton

The Get Out Pass got us out skiing twice as a family. We got to go with Charlie's family to Brighton which made it that much more fun. The best part about going in March is the time change and it stayed lighter later. The snow was still fresh and it wasn't too cold. Sienna was cold and I had a headache most of the night so that was a bummer but we made the most of it.

Cousin Sleepover

Charlie's family came to town for their spring break which meant it was time for a cousin sleepover! It was so perfect because we had school off for two days at the beginning of the week. They came to a fireside with us Sunday night and then slept over. We had a huge bowl of muddy buddies to start the night. Everyone played outside games, inside games, and had so much fun together.

Random Picture Dump

Lynnlee is always finding things on Pinterest that she wants to make. she made these cute hamburger cupcakes.

One night Lynnlee, Tag and Sienna were being super silly and taking funny pictures.

Tag all tucked in for the night with his bear that helps him when he feels scared.
One night everyone was gone to activities so Sienna and I got some ice cream and had a good talk about mature stuff. She took it very well and she was very grown up about it all.
