Tag's Basketball, James's Soccer

While we were gone, Taggart had his last Jr Jazz game. He had a lot of fun with his team and new most of them from school. The coach was nice and helped the boys a lot.

The other big thing that happened while we were gone was James made the high school soccer team! This was a big deal because Lehi High School is very big. It's a 5A school that is soon to be 6A. Around 90 boys started going to open gym in January. There was a coaches meeting and they said open gym was important to give the boys lots of chances to show the coaches their athleticism, attitude and coachability. All through January and February they had open gym to give the coaches a chance to see the boys longer than just the two days of tryouts. I appreciated this because with so many boys you aren't going to see everyone in just two days. James went every time and had a good attitude, tried his best, and listened to the coaches. He put his whole heart and soul into it. I was praying so hard because we have invested a lot of time into his soccer. I was also worried though because James chose not to play soccer on Sunday which meant he didn't play on the top club team in the fall. I was worried playing on a lower level would decrease his chances for making the team. Thankfully though in the end, he made the team. He made the first day of tryouts and called us with that good news Monday night. Then Tuesday night he called us with the good news that he had officially made it. Three of his friends didn't make it so it was bitter sweet. Thankfully his friendships have withstood that and they are all still friends.
We missed his first scrimmage, the purple and white game. They had a team picture taken as well.
