Parades

One of my favorite summertime activities now that I have kids are parades. American Fork doesn't have their parade until July but who says we can't go to other parades. A few weeks ago I took my kids to the parade in Eagle Mountain. Last Saturday we went to the parade in Pleasant Grove. You can't beat free entertainment for a few hours on a Saturday morning. Our friends the Tibbs came with us on Saturday. James and Lynnlee had fun with Camden.

It was fun to watch them all jamming out to music played by the floats.

What parade is up next on the summer list? The Lehi parade this Saturday.

Family Night

James planned our activity for family night. He wanted to make planets out of Rice Krispy treats. Not sure what gave him the idea but we decided to roll with it. First he had us all print off a planet of our choice. Then color it and cut out. Then we made them out of Rice Krispy treats. It was a lot of fun. I'm excited for family nights to come when he plans the activity.

Summertime

We counted down the days til summertime and the water park opening. Now that it's here we have been enjoying every day. It will be a lot harder to get out once baby #3 gets here so we have been doing as much as we can before then.

We went to the zoo today. The weather was perfect! It was fun to see the new exhibits at Rocky  Shores. James loved watching the polar bear swim around. Today was the first time seeing the bird show. It was great and I think the best part was watching my kids' faces during the show.

We've been going to Seven Peaks a few times a week. It is the best way to get through the hot days. I had 2 sets of goggles in my bag that I let James and Lynnlee play with yesterday. Who knew theywould have so much fun with them.

Saturday night we decided spur of the moment to go up AF canyon. It was so much cooler up there so it was nice to get a break from the 90 degree weather at home.

We go walking most mornings. James and Lynnlee usually go in their pajamas. James slept in his Batman pajamas last night so he insisted on wearing his Batman mask for our walk today. So funny!

Preschool Graduation

James is participating in Preschool Pals our neighborhood preschool but in January I decided to enroll him in another preschool. He was guaranteed a spot for next year if I started him in January and since I really like this preschool I wanted to make sure he got in. The preschool is called Super Kids Preschool. The teacher has been teaching for about 10 years and she does a great job and is super organized. She has a blog so you can keep up on all the fun things they learn in class.

She even has a cap and gown for each child to wear on graduation day. So cute! Graduation started off with each child bringing their Mom a flower they had made with a gift attached.

Then they sang some songs.

They each got diplomas/certificates. James is on the far right.

We had time to take pictures before going inside and watching a video from the year. The teacher also had year books for them. Instead of signing each others, each kid brought stickers and put one of their stickers in all of the other preschoolers year books. A way fun idea!

We are happy Grandma Dellene could come too. Marshall is out of town for work so he was sad to miss it.

Nothing better than a fun lunch after! We went to Shakey's Pizza. I recommend it. They have lots of yummy pizzas and its a buffet. There are free arcade games too.

Boating

James and Lynnlee couldn't wait to go on Grandpa Lowry's boat a few Saturdays ago. They had a great time and keep asking me when we are going again.

Party

We had fun at my brother's graduation party last week. He throws the best parties. My kids were highly entertained. James didn't leave the trampoline for more than a second. Lynnlee had fun playing in the play house with Drew.

Congrats Charlie and thanks for the fun party!

Moving!

Baby #3 is coming soon and we have been feeling a little cramped in our townhome. We decided to build a home in South Lehi. Hopefully it will be finished by the end of July. We will be moving with a newborn so it will be a little crazy but it will be nice to have a more space! So far our foundation is in. I would take credit for the work except that we are building through Edge Homes so they are taking care of everything. They have been great to work with so I highly recommend them.

AF Canyon

I love living near American Fork canyon! Who needs a fire pit in your back yard when you can drive up the beautiful canyon and enjoy a camp fire. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows with our friends the Tibbs a few weeks ago. I can't wait for many more trips up the canyon this summer!
