Lowry Family Reunion

The Lowry Family reunion took place from Thursday afternoon to Saturday morning in Preston, ID. It was the weekend before the boys went backpacking. I had clinical a few days that week. It was too stressful to go up, and so we decided to just go for one day. We drove up first thing Friday morning and got home around midnight. It was a fun but long day! We stopped at Pepperidge Farm on the way. It is a must!

Beckie and Anthony were in charge this year. The Airbnb was an old home with history. It was President Kimball's childhood home. We started off the day with breakfast and had some time to visit and catch up with everyone. This was in one of the bedrooms.

We had some time to play hackie sack before floating the river. 

We floated the Bear River on tubes. We went with a company so they took us on a bus to the start and brought us back to our car once we finished. I was on a quad tube with Lynnlee, Sienna, and Scarlett. Marshall was on a quad tube with James, Tag, and Raegan. Kade and Nika did a double tube and they were hilarious to watch. They are so adventurous and probably flipped 2 or 3 times. It felt like the Provo River. It was really fun. It was a cloudy day but still hot and the water wasn't really cold. It was just right. We saw Sienna's sewing teacher was at the tubing place so that was fun to run into her since she also knows Brooke, London, and Scarlett.

This hammock was on the side of the house and it was a favorite hangout for the kids.

After tubing we had free time for nine square, glamour shots with Deb, boondoggle, face painting, and chill time. 

We had a gift exchange after dinner. Lynnlee ended up with Snoop Dog's cook book. It is not to be trusted. She made pancakes and the recipe called for 2 TABLESPOONS of baking power! Yikes!

We watched the slide show of glamour shots and had snow cones to finish off the night. It was great seeing everyone and spending time together.

Sienna's Friend Party and Shopping

Sienna wanted to go park-hopping for her birthday, but when we looked at the weather forecast, it showed it would be 100 degrees. We decided to change plans. We started off the night making homemade pizzas. They turned out ok. Everyone seemed to like them. Then we opened presents and played games. We played bingo, unwrapped all of the Saran Wrap, and played spoons. 

Then they watched the movie Michael, and then we took everyone home. There was no drama, and it was a fun party. I'm so glad we decided to change plans.

Lynnlee in Washington D.C.

At State FCCLA, Lynnlee qualified for nationals in Washington D.C. She took a redeye flight on Sunday night, July 5. She has never slept well in a car or airplane through the night so I was worried about her. When she drove with Charlie's family to Texas, she took melatonin at bedtime and still was only able to sleep for an hour or two. Same this flight. She took a little stronger sleeping medicine and still only slept for an hour or two. She had a busy day Monday in D.C. but with a bike tour right off but thankfully she had the energy for everything. She even had a chance to take a nap which she never does but she got a little boost from her power nap to get through the rest of the day.

Soccer Tournament at Lakeside

It has been a busy summer and I can't keep track of the names of the tournaments. Kade's team and Tag's team played in tournaments at Lakeside. Both were put in too high of divisions and they lost most of their games. Kade's team won their last game, thankfully. It was against his old team so really wanted them to win to make us a feel good about our decision. We won by a few points so we feel good about our decision to leave. 

Kade's 14th Birthday!

Kade knew he had a soccer tournament game on his birthday and then the rest of the week, so we celebrated his birthday before and after the tournament. We still haven't had his "friend party." He wants to take a friend to Heber to sleep over, fish, and go to the Heber pool. Hopefully, we can make it happen soon.

He got new cleats and some clothes for his birthday. 

Naturally, we had to go to Chuck A Rama for Kade's birthday dinner.

In the last year, Kade has gotten taller, and his voice has gotten deeper. He is stronger and a great helper when he wants to. He loves spending time with his siblings. He really loves soccer even more than last year. He still needs his sleep and he loves listening to music. 

Tag's and Sienna's 12th Birthday!

We've had many fun sleepovers in the basement this summer. There are two couch beds now along with two other couches so there are lots of comfy places to sleep. Tag and Sienna slept in the basement so that is where we found them to wake them up for their birthdays.

Sienna wanted to go shopping for her birthday so she didn't have much to open besides sibling gifts. tag had a few things to open because he got a disc golf set and a snow cone maker. 

We went to the Provo Pool for their birthdays. This was Tag's friend party so we took Gio, Blake and Callen. Sienna planned a friend party for Friday night.

I took cupcakes to celebrate.

Sid came with Mir and Brig so that was so nice of them to come to the party.

In the last year, Sienna has gotten taller. She is just as friendly and cheerful as ever. In my phone her contact name is Sunshine. She has a great group of friends. She loves Ramen and Noodle microwave packets from Costco. She loves watching shows on Disney. She still loves dolls, Baby Threes, and squishies. 

In the last year, Tag has not grown as much but has definitely matured. he is done with toys, Legos, and other things like that. He loves soccer and could play all day everyday. He loves playing the piano but is done with lessons. He has a few best friends. He likes to ask lots of questions.
