EGD

Jameson has had quite the year since April 2019. We are slowly working through all of the things bothering his body. Figuring out he is allergic to nickel, latex, gold and lanolin was huge. He has definitely felt better since getting his braces and expander out. He still has a gold chain and bracket in his mouth on his canine tooth. He has had a little bit of symptoms/reaction to it but not as bad as before. I felt like it would be helpful to see if anything else is going on or causing his symptoms besides those allergies alone.
I thought he might have something called EOE and the way to know if you have it is a biopsy of the throat and stomach. He had an EGD last week to rule that out and see the overall health of his throat, stomach, and upper small intestine. The results came back Monday and thankfully he has a healthy throat, stomach and small intestine. The results of the biopsies came back negative. Once the chain and bracket come out he should be back to normal.

James was most nervous for the IV. As he was getting checked in he mentioned it to the MA. She said not to worry because they could numb it before. Then when the Gastroenterologist came in James mentioned it to her. She said not to worry because they would give him the laughing gas and then start putting him to sleep so he wouldn't feel it or remember it. Once he found that out he was relaxed and ready for the procedure.

I met up with him in recovery and he was so happy and chatty. He was so cute telling me thanks and how much he loved me. I was so relieved it all went well and glad we can check another thing off the list.
