Skydive the Wasatch

When I give gifts they are usually practical things that you need. It can get a little boring so I asked Marshall if he wanted a practical gift or fun gift for a change. He voted for fun and so he got a gift card to go skydiving. It is on his bucket list and so I figured why wait for the "someday" to do it. He was really excited when he got the gift card.

When he made the reservation they said to plan on two hours so I brought a bag of snacks and drinks. The kids and I hung out on one side of the hanger. There were couches and an Xbox.

Marshall signed the waiver, watched a quick video and then they put his harness on.

Then his instructor put the parachute on and off they went. It was so surprising that there wasn't really any instructions so Marshall asked if there was anything he needed to know and his instructor told him they would talk on the plane ride up. When they were on the plane the instructions were simple since it was tandem and the instructor would be doing most of it.

It all happened so fast! When Marshall took off Kaden looked at me with a sad face and asked if he was coming back.

My nephew Drew came with us and they all sat in these chairs when Marshall took off in the airplane.

About fifteen minutes later you could hear the airplane getting close and then could see it. When the airplane was over the airport I saw a little black dot appear. It was a little black dot for a minute and then the parachute appeared. We had fun watching him come down and it was also a little nerve racking because once he got close it seemed like he was going really fast. His landing was very smooth though and they both landed on their feet. Then they walked over to us like it was no big deal. I took video of him skydiving but this is for a blog book so I won't post it.

Marshall loved it and the whole thing was a success. They even gave him a certificate. It was so fast and we were on our way home an hour after getting there.
