Puerto Rico

February was a busy month! At the end of the month Marshall and I got to go on a cruise to the southern Caribbean. It was such a nice break from our Utah winter. HUGE thanks to both our parents for watching our children.

We took a red eye to Puerto Rico on a Friday night and arrived there Saturday morning. Marshall and I take turns planning trips. I planned the trip to DL and he planned all of this trip. He found this cute airbnb and rented a car so we could get around in Puerto Rico before the cruise. We had all Saturday and Sunday morning before getting on the ship.

After we got checked in to our room we went to El Yunque Forest. It was about an hour drive. We hiked to a waterfall and took a swim. The water was cold, not as cold as Utah water but colder than I was hoping.

The view driving home was beautiful! This is called the tower.

That night we stopped at a food stand and tried a variety of yummy food.

Sunday we planned to go to church before getting on the ship. We pulled up about ten minutes before it was suppose to start and no one was there. Another couple pulled up who were also on vacation and we decided it must be stake conference or something. So we listened to some conference talks and went for a walk on the beach. The water was nice and warm.

We got on the cruise ship Sunday afternoon. I was so grateful we had a room with a window!

We cruised on Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas. It was a beautiful ship! This is the dining room. We ate at the early dining time and it opened up the rest of our night for shows, games, movies, or mini golf.

We dined with the cutest older couple from Ohio. They were so nice and easy to talk to. This was their 35th cruise or something close to that.  I'll post a picture of us with them later in the blog.

This is the promenade. There was shopping, ice cream shop, cafe, and a pizza place. Pools, hot tubs, mini golf, climbing wall, flow rider and ping pong were all on the top deck.

This was the view as we left the port.
