Nap time

Today James woke up a little earlier than normal but seemed to be happy this morning. I had planned to go walking around ten. When I asked James if he wanted to go for a walk he was excited and helped me get him dressed(usually it's a battle to get him dressed), but as soon as he went outside he wanted nothing to do with the stroller. I was being selfish and really wanted to go walking so even though he was crying and refused to go in the stroller, I made him get in anyway. He through the biggest fit. He cried and wiggled around in the stroller for the first part of the walk. He was so mad and wouldn't calm down for any bribes- fruit snacks, toys, etc. (Is this the start of the "Terrible Twos?") So finally I let him out and he stopped crying and walked along side of us. He pretty much walked about half a mile up a hill to the park. Then he played at the park for atleast half hour. He let me buckle him in the stroller for the way home. When we got home he started playing with his toys so I decided to wait and put him down for his nap. In the mornings he usually plays well with his toys so I can take a shower while Lynnlee is napping. So I decided to hurry and shower while he was playing. When I came downstairs I had a short panick attack because I couldn't hear him or find him. Then I walked into the kitchen and found this:
I should have guessed how tired he would be from waking up early, walking and playing at the park. He must have been really tired to be able to fall asleep on a cold, hard floor.

James and Lynnlee

James has adjusted really well to having a sister (until she's old enough to steal his toys). He kisses her and likes to hold her hand. When he wants to hold her he comes to me with his hands out. It's pretty cute. Yesterday he wanted to hold her so we took a couple of picures of them. Like how he only has one shoe on? He took one off and then got busy playing and I guess just forgot to take the other one off.

Awesome

My sister Betsy graduated with her MBA from West Minster. Lynnlee and I were able to go to her pinning ceremony last week. Congrats Sista!

Thanks to my wonderful sister-in-laws for watching James while Marshall was at his soccer game!

Beautiful Girl

I know I post a lot of pictures of Lynnlee but since she doesn't get to be in public very much no one ever gets to see her. If we do take her in public it's because she's sleeping and stays in the car seat. She's changing so much everyday so I wanted you to see her when she's not asleep in her car seat. Marshall and I had fun taking some pictures of her the other day.

Lynnlee's Update

Lynnlee is 2 months old. With all that she has been through I feel like it's been more than 2 months. Recently she has had checkups with the dermatologist and cardiologist. The dermatologist checked her birth mark. She told us it would continue to increase in size over the next few months and then over the next few years it will lighten and disappear. So far it's definitely getting bigger but it's funny how small of a concern it is compared to her heart defect. The cardiologist said her heart was pumping well and as they expect for this point in time. Her oxygen is 88% (90% or above is normal for you and I but they expect hers to be below 90%). She is able to stop taking a medication she was taking for swelling. All in all we couldn't be more happy with her check up. She will need her next surgery as early as July but hopefully not until fall. It all depends on how she changes over the next few months. She will have a check up with the cardiologist again next month.

Soccer

Marshall has been playing soccer in Park City the last few years. Even though it's a little bit of a drive from American Fork he wanted to play again this season. The kids and I decided to go with him last night. I planned a little barbecue with Marshall's sister, Beckie. The weather was beautiful when we left American Fork but I packed warm clothes for everyone since the forecast said rain and it's a good thing because it rained a lot. Luckily there was a covered area where we could eat and watch Marshall's game. James and Lily had a great time running around and kicking a soccer ball. Lynnlee slept in her car seat the whole time.

It was a little bit of an adventure but I hope to have more tail gate barbecues with Marshall's other games.

Birthday Weekend

I had a great birthday last weekend. Marshall went out of his way to make sure I had a great day. He let me sleep in and then served me breakfast in bed. Then James and I got to spend time with our friends Chelsea and Benson while Marshall worked.

That afternoon we went for a run on the trail in Provo canyon. James and Lynnlee love the double jogging stroller which I got for my birthday/Mother's Day present. After our run we hiked up to Bridal Veil Falls. It was James's first hike where he actually hiked and wasn't in a backpack. He did a great job. I took Lynnlee in the front pack. It was a little breezy so I kept a blanket on her. James loved the waterfall.

That night my parents watched James and Lynnlee so we could go out to dinner. After dinner we came back to my parent's house and had my favorite birthday dessert: homemade oreo cheesecake (thanks Mom!) Thanks Marshall for a great birthday!

Sleep

I love the different ways Lynnlee falls asleep.
