Motherhood

This has been one of my favorite quotes since I heard it at general conference a few years ago.

I love being a mother to the minis, James, Lynnlee and Kaden.

Window down

Kaden normally sits in the back. He has had a few chances to sit in the middle seat next to the window and he loves it. The first time it was like he going on a roller-coaster and he was putting his hands up in the air, he had a huge smile and he was giggling.

This time it was very relaxing and he fell asleep.

I had a cold for two weeks and during that time I developed a sinus infection. This happens with almost every cold I get so I'm getting used to them but this one was worse. The sinus infection was going on a week and a half and the pain in my sinuses kept getting worse. (I know I have a lower tolerance for pain than most but it hurt) On top of that my neck was really sore and hurting so much that the pain would wake me up during the night and it was hard to get comfortable to stay asleep.

Friday night I was so uncomfortable between my neck hurting and my sinus pain. I took some ibuprofen and got relief. Then I told Marshall I was so grateful I wasn't a pioneer because I couldn't live without ibuprofen and other medicine available to keep us comfortable during sickness and pain.

Then I went to sleep and I woke up during the middle of the night with the stomach flu. The ibuprofen wore off and I was in so much pain. I couldn't take more because I couldn't hold it down. It was miserable to say the least.

Saturday morning Marshall and a neighbor gave me a blessing. I was in so much pain and was so tired. Thankfully I was able to get some sleep after that. When I woke up my stomach felt better and I was able to hold some crackers and ibuprofen down. I was able to rest comfortably the rest of the day.

So that was a nice long intro for these pictures. I spent Saturday afternoon laying on the couch watching conference. In between sessions the minis got rides in the dump truck.

Lynnlee gave them rides too.

I had great views from the couch with these cuties. I enjoyed listening to general conference. There are so many uplifting messages. I have already started listening to them again and the ones I missed.

Thanks to Marshall for taking care of everyone so I could recover!

Rain Storm

A storm blew threw Lehi on Friday. It rained a lot and fast. We are not used to this much rain in a short amount of time. It completely filled up the retention pond at the end of our street.

Kaden and Minis at the Park

I love the stage the minis are in. They have figured out how to play on small play grounds. They know how to climb up the stairs all by themselves. Then turn on their bellies and slide down the slide. They do it over and over. Kaden plays with them and has fun exploring the park on his own too. It is so nice getting out and watching them play.

Imagination

James showed me his blanket rope that helps him climb up the cliff so he doesn't fall into the lava on the floor in his room. I love his imagination and creativity. Of course he is usually playing this game when it's time to go to bed and lights are out. I guess I can't fault him too much since Ali,  Charlie and I used to do the same thing to our parents when we were suppose to be in bed. We had all sorts of games and imaginary scenarios.

Talking With Kaden

Kaden's preschool teacher asked that we talked about safety before school today so the kids would be prepared. So I started asking Kaden questions. I said Kaden if we had an emergency at our house who do you call for help? He said Jesus!

Then I asked what should you do if a bad guy comes in your house? He said kill him! Hence we will be further discussing these topics.

Kaden found a snake the other night with Marshall. He loved playing with it. He definitely doesn't get that from me.
That night he said to Marshall, "I like Jesus and snakes." 

Menu

Planning out meals for the week is one of my least favorite things to do. I decided to make it a little easier by putting all of our favorites into categories. That way we aren't eating chicken dishes all in a row and we get a good variety.

Sometimes it's easier to narrow down what to have each night by giving themes to each dinner. Such as Monday is Mexican food, Tuesday have soup, Wednesday is Italian, Thursday have breakfast, etc. 

On a good week I plan it all out and we stick to the plan and I only go to the store once. On a bad week I am scrambling to think of what to have for dinner each night and end up going to the store a lot. Don't look too close as there are a few errors. Ha ha!
