I watched Dolphin Tale with my kids about a year ago and we talked about how cool it would be to actually go the Clearwater. When we started planning the trip we talked about doing one day at Lego Land or Sea World but didn't really want to spend them much. I remembered Clearwater Aquarium and realized it was closer and so much cheaper.
It was really cool to see the hospital side of the aquarium. It is a very unique aquarium because they are also a marine animal rescue and rehab. They had a large white board with all of the "patients" and about each one.
We saw Hope and Winter and it was just like the movie.
We stayed at the touch tank for awhile. It was cute watching all of the kids giggle as the rays went by.
The house boat from the movie is still there.
We rode the trolley to the studio and ate our lunch on the way.
The studio had lots of interesting facts about the movie, sets and props.
You could write a message and hang it up. This is what Lynnlee wrote. 💗
We rode the ferry back to the aquarium. This was Kaden's favorite.
We watched Dolphin Tale that night and had fun pointing out the things we saw.
We went to Clearwater beach after. The sand reminded me of Siesta Key but the water wasn't clear. Ha ha! It must have been clear when they named it. This beach was so crowded but we still had fun cooling off and playing in the sand.
