I loved our trip to Florida last summer and I left wanting more. So we made plans to go again this summer. This time Charlie's family and Ali's family joined the fun.
We flew out on a Tuesday afternoon. It's always a little hectic getting through the airport with everyone. Everyone had a backpack to carry on plus a small suitcase. Once we got the bags checked it was a lot easier.
Flying was much better this time because we were on Delta and everyone had a TV screen. I also had packed lots of snacks in each kid's backpack so everyone was happy for the four hour flight. Having a direct flight also helped. So the three keys are: tv, food and direct flight.
We got to our condo really really late. We explored the complex the next morning and found our pool.
It was the fourth of July so traffic was crazy on the island.
It took us a long time to drive a half mile to the market to get cereal. We decided to head straight to the beach after that to avoid the traffic. We met up with Charlie's family.
We had a BBQ that night at Charlie's.
Then had ice cream at Big Olaf's.
Hanging out at Charlie's waiting for the firework show at the public beach....
The days that followed went like this....go to the beach......leave at dinner time to eat. Swim in one of the pools....swim until it closes at 10:00.....go to bed.....repeat next day.
Oh yeah, and we got ice cream every day. Nakomis Grove is also our favorite because they have the best orange ice cream!
My friend Megan met up with us each day. It was fun spending time with her. I love how we can not see each other for years and then catch right back up.
The minis loved spending time with their Texas cousins.
The trees in the courtyard were so cool.
One night we saw the sunset on the beach.
