James decided he wanted to start going to date dances the year he turned sixteen. He asked a girl named Jocelyn. She is in his friends group. He asked her with a puzzle and hid a missing piece in her house with his name on it. She answered him back with jam.
Their day date was at an escape room in Orem. Marshall was the chauffeur for half of the group. He was great and perfect for the job as he coached James and McKay to go up to their door to get them, open their door, compliment them, etc.
James got a new navy suit and yellow tie for the dance. He was excited to wear his Nikes.
They had dinner at Bona Vita. Megan, McKay's mom took over the chauffeur duties the rest of the night.
His friend scheduled a photographer and they had pictures taken at Thanksgiving Point. It's so different than when I was in high school. No more pictures at the dance with a back drop and props.
The dance was at Electric Park at Thanksgiving Park. Thankfully the weather cooperated. He had a great time at the dance. They played games at Brody's house after and finished around midnight. Overall it was a fun first date dance.
