Marshall’s Birthday

Marshall is 38! We kept the celebrating low key because he doesn’t love birthdays. We made his favorite breakfast, gave him presents, and sent him off to work that morning

That night we had dinner together and then split up to go do kid stuff. We met back up again and had Ramune sodas from Japan. Marshall introduced them to us years ago and they are really good. Plus they are fun to open. The soda comes with a little plastic piece. There is a marble right underneath the top. You put the plastic piece on top and hit it to knock the marble out of the way to open the bottle top.

The next night Marshall’s parents joined us for a birthday dinner with his favorite food and dessert. Lynnlee made him a hat.

Jr Jazz

Tag finished up his Jr Jazz season. He loves basketball so he was sad when it ended. He will be asking me from now until next fall when basketball starts again.

Chewie is doing much better!

*Disclaimer* If you aren’t a pet lover than you can skip the rest of this post.

Thankfully when I took him to the vet urgent care Wednesday I didn’t have to wait as long. We got to see the same vet that we saw before and that was helpful. He ran some blood tests and everything was normal. I came home feeling relieved that it wasn’t anything serious but unsure why he was so sleepy and not eating.

We concluded that the antibiotic was making him sleepy and changing his appetite. We gave him medicine to stimulate his appetite and it worked within a few hours. He ate his food! Such a relief!

Our friend Joyce gave him the cute Christmas sweater. He went to the groomer Thursday so he definitely needs a sweater to stay warm. His fur gets matted very easily when it is so long. So he had to have his fur shaved off. He looks like a completely different dog when he has short hair.

Hobbies

Well, I thought we were done with the vet for a long time. Chewie made a full recovery or so it seemed. He’s still taking vitamin K and an antiobiotic but he was back to normal in all other aspects. Then yesterday he was slightly not normal. Today he’s not eating, more lethargic and just not himself. So while I wait for hours at the Vet urgent care I guess I will blog.

I started blogging as a way to update our parents’ on their missions, then it became a scrapbook. It is still a scrapbook but has also become a hobby I really enjoy. I love when I can write something everyday. I wish I had more time to write about different things that happen each day.

I looked through some old pictures when we were at my parents’ house for Thanksgiving. I found this family picture of everyone each holding something that represeneted their hobby.

Not sure what book my dad is holding but could be related to his profession. Also He is very knowledgeable and remembers so many facts, dates, stories so this books represents all of his knowledge and love for learning, in my opinion.

My mom is holding a lantern. My parents took us camping, my mom was young women camp director, plus other leadership roles in young womens. She’s been to many girls camps.

Kasey is holding a football. He was the star quarterback in high school. Betsy holding a volleyball which she played through high school. Katie is holding a basketball but she played volleyball and soccer so I’m a little surprised. Charlie is holding rollerblades. We all loved rollerblading and he did too. Ali holding a sketch book. She is a talented artist.

Then there is me. I’m holding my blankie?! What was I thinking? Even if I couldn’t hold something that someone else chose I could have held a soccer ball. I guess it does reflect how much and how long I loved my blankie, but still, not a hobby. Being the baby of the family gives me a pass though right?!

I’m going to miss this view! A few more weeks to go and we’ll be in our new house.

December Birthdays

We celebrated December birthdays at my parent’s house Sunday. Marshall is happy Jack’s girlfriend, Savannah also has a December birthday to take some attention off of him.

I love Sunday family dinners. I’m so grateful for my family!

Sensuous Sandwich

I love sandwiches! I grew up on sandwiches for lunch. They never get old. Marshall doesn’t love sandwiches but was ok with having one when I choose where to go for lunch.
Sensuous sandwich has the most yummy, mouth watering sandwiches! Mmm…yum!

Flashback Friday

It’s entertaining looking at the wall of family pictures at my parent’s house. I got a perm earlier on the day this picture was taken.

I still love wearing plaid shirts.
