Saturday morning James and I ran the Swiss Days 10k. The goal was not to PR. I’m tapering so I didn’t want to exhaust myself trying to PR. James started to train 2 months ago and then he got sick a month ago so he stopped training. I didn’t think he would want to run the race but he did. He was good with running at an easier pace. It was really fun running with him. We had some good chats. We listened to Muse. When we ran past the golf course I told him about the time a friend and I were driving too fast in a golf cart and rolled down a hill trying to get back during a storm.
Anyways, it was fun running with him. He surprised me on the homestretch though and turned on the jets. He was trying to beat another boy that looked around the same age. I couldn’t keep up with James. He is a fast sprinter and I am not. That is why I do long distances. I placed 2nd and he placed 3rd. We each got mugs.
James and Kade rode in the parade with Marshall who pulled the M&M band float. The rest of us watched the parade.
After the parade we walked around the booths.
Later the girls helped my mom redesign her fairy garden that had been flooded in a rain storm.
