Jameson got to go on trek with our new ward. The timing of us going to our new ward was perfect and allowed him to go. We thought Marshall would be released as bishop when the stake boundary changes occurred. He ended up being released three weeks before that so we went to our new ward three weeks before the changes happened. That gave James time to prep and go to trek.
We felt a little unprepared for trek but thankfully with the help of some other families, we rounded up some "pioneer clothes." Thanks to Amazon for his hat.
Jameson had a few friends on trek with him. He rode in the car with this friend's dad. It was a six hour car ride so he really enjoyed the comfort of watching movies, playing games and listening to music the whole way.
Wednesday they had their first trek. They got up early and walked to 6th crossing. It was a six mile trek. They were able to start from their camp. They had one hand cart for their family. They had six "kids" in their family so they had two in the front, two in the middle and two in the back to help with the cart. They made stops along the way to have devotionals.
Thursday they had their second trek. This one they drove to Martin's Cove and walked six miles total. They walked to the cove and had time to reflect and journal. They also had stops along the way to have devotionals.
Friday he went to Rock Creek Hollow and had a devotional. He got to read letters from Marshall and me. They headed home after lunch and got home that night.
He really enjoyed trek and the time he had to think about what the pioneers went through. He also had moments of seeing how important it is to have quiet time. Lastly he thanked Marshall and I for all we do for him.
