As we planned when to celebrate July birthdays and when to have the Jarvis Family Talent show it worked the best to do them both on the 4th of July. Normally we go to the Freedom Festival on the 4th but since it was cancelled our plans were wide open.
Then as planning continued it transformed into a extravaganza with a day full of fun. It was basically the Jarvis Family reunion 2020. We started off with a pancake breakfast.
My parents rented an inflatable slide and Ali brought her inflatable slide that could get wet.
During the day we played corn hole, ladder golf and nine square.
Back in February Ashlyn planned to have a talent show this summer. She sent a letter to all of her cousins letting them know about the talent show and asking if they wanted to participate. Then she used her own money to design and get matching shirts for all of the cousins. She also bought costumes for some of the talents. I was so impressed with all of the planning she did. She typed up and printed off programs. That afternoon we had the talent show and she directed it. It was so fun! Miriel was the emcee. Most did a talent and if they didn't have a solo number then they participated in a group number.
Lynnlee and Lydia: Lydia played Row Row Row Your Boat and they both sang. Then Lynnlee played Lava You and they both sang.
Lucy, Sid, Katelyn and Brigs did some Tik Tok dances.
Kaden and Tanner danced to Baby Shark.
Sienna sang Into the Unknown and Katelyn, Sid and Lucy were her back up dancers.
Brigham did a dance to Foot Loose. He is VERY flexible! This is not a Jarvis gene.
The closing dance number included everyone and was the song "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons.
We had dinner and then the July birthday's got to open presents.
We watched the Midway fireworks from the parking lot of the middle school near my parent's house. I couldn't believe how many neighborhoods around had their own aerial fireworks show. It was like surround sound firework show for us. I really think we never have to buy our own fireworks because watching everyone else's is so much better.
It's funny to think how it was kind of chilly that night watching fireworks. We needed a light jacket or blanket. Now I'm blogging about it over a month later at is is 100 degrees everyday and in the 70s every night and a chilly night sounds nice.
